Does anyone remember the name of this TV police series

I watched a police series on TV which ended last year and cannot remember what it was called. It involved a Male and Female both detectives who ended up romantically involved and got engaged. She went out on a call on her own and tried to stop a suspect in a car who mowed her down and drove off. The final scene looked as though the Lady detective was not going to make it. Can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me what the series was called?

I’m fairly certain the series you are thinking of is Unforgotten with Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bashkir. She was a single mother living with her Dad and dedicated to her job. There were a couple of series and yes she did die in the last one. It has just been repeated late at night on ITV and I did watch some of the first series.

I think it might be Inspector T ?? I loved that series.

Thank you so much definitely Professor T. Brilliant series and acting from Ben Miller and the indomitable France de la Tour. I have been racking my brain for so long thanks for helping. Yes Unforgotten was a great series too. I understand that both series will be coming back next year and am looking forward to seeing them again.
