Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

I think all this talk about Wynne is over the top. Katya is a adult, she said she was not offended, respect that.
Also it was suggested by Sparklefizz that he is fat, unattractive with no chance of winning, a bit narrow minded in this day and age. If the atove was said about a woman there would be a hue and cry sbout it.
I honestly believe this is a fuss about nothing. Let's move on and enjoy the dancing. I think there are at least three couples who are worse than Wynne, so I believe he will do quite well.

Sparklefizz Sun 20-Oct-24 20:04:42

Yes. Even the judges were surprised.

Casdon Sun 20-Oct-24 20:01:06

I don’t understand at all why JB was in the dance off, he’s one of the best dancers, there seem to be plenty of surprises this year.

Sparklefizz Sun 20-Oct-24 19:48:23

Ooh, the Argentine Tango next week!! Bet Vito will choreograph a dramatic routine.

Calendargirl Sun 20-Oct-24 19:45:32

Bye bye Paul

sad

Spectacular and dramatic dance from the pro dancers.

Anniebach
Desperate to keep him in or wanting to show support for a man
who has been unfairly accused of sexual advances to his dance partner
Anniebach Whether in your opinion you think Wynne has been "unfairly accused", the fact of the matter is that all the viewers saw his hand creeping across Katya's stomach, and saw her reaction to it. She didn't like it and surely that's up to her.

Obviously she didn’t like him, she had that right, she chose the
wrong time didn’t she ? Rather a disappointing partner, not
attractive, fat, no chance of winning.
No matter, you believe with the cameras flashing he was getting a thrill or perhaps more , I do not, she forgot the cameras. This does matter, not to be liked ? ok, accused of
being a lech is not ok

Casdon Sun 20-Oct-24 16:56:37

I follow Strictly on Facebook, and actually there’s not the condemnation of Wynne on the comments section on there, except for his actual dance last night. Whether comments are filtered or not I don’t know, but if the 1000 comments on the post are anything to go by, compared to comments about some of the others, I could be wrong but I don’t think he’s going to be the one going home tonight.

Shirley commented on Pete’s impressive lifts while saying there shouldn’t have been any lifts in that dance . Then made it clear she was prepared to overlook the breach and went on to give them a favourable score. So much for the judges being impartial. Craig may be strict but at least he’s consistent and fair.

escaped Sun 20-Oct-24 15:37:46

I mean chemistry between Pete and his partner, not between him and Shirley! 😃

escaped Sun 20-Oct-24 15:36:19

Peter's hip action wasn't brilliant, and his legs were a bit stiff, but there was certainly chemistry between them!

Millie22 Sun 20-Oct-24 15:16:31

Shirley certainly got quite excited when Pete did the rumba. It was a bit icky tbh.

I think she really likes him 😂

LizzieDrip Sun 20-Oct-24 12:54:36

I think Chris is a-maze-ing!!! What he is achieving without being able to see is truly remarkable. I thought his dance last night to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ was incredibly emotional. I’d really love him to win, but don’t think he willsad

Like others on here have commented, Shirley seemed a bit ‘over excited’ last night - maybe she and Motsi had taken a pre-show sherry (or three)grin

Calendargirl Sun 20-Oct-24 12:47:28

He’s trying to be a cross between Len and Bruno

‘Trying’ being the operative word.

The shrieking and jumping off his chair is Bruno, some of the phrases he uses are pinched off Len.

The thing is, he passes some really constructive comments when he talks about what he really knows, i.e. being a professional dancer on the show, which none of the other judges can claim to.

Esmay

Most of us want to see proper dancing without the hype .
I'm finding Anton a bit of a clown .

Completely agree.

I'm disappointed that Anton is over-egging himself. He's trying to be a cross between Len and Bruno (both irreplaceable in their own way) and seems to have lost himself in all of it.

He does actually have quite a dry sense of humour, I wish he'd just be himself.

I saw him with Erin Boag when they toured together and he was absolutely delightful, but that was a few years back now.

I just feel when they dole out 10’s so early on, there’s nothing left to strive for, which is why Craig wisely hangs on to his 10 paddle.

Shirley, Motsi, Anton, just want to be popular.

nanaK54 Sun 20-Oct-24 10:54:26

Evening out yesterday - yay! So only caught up this morning.

Chris and Dianne such a moving performance. I will never understand how she teaches him and/or how he manages to execute these dances they are a very special partnership.

Wynne and Katya - last week's news really - we will never know the truth so no point speculating - I did think marks were too high but what do I know?!

Allira Sun 20-Oct-24 10:45:36

I sometimes watch and predict the scores - for the first few I got them mostly right apart from one of Craig's but then the scores went all to pot for the final few dancers.

Sara1954 Sun 20-Oct-24 10:37:34

I love Strictly, but I felt last night, that the scores were being manipulated, Shirley really disappointed me.

Clawdy

I think the judges are desperate to keep Wynne and Katya in. Those marks were ridiculous. And Shirley was so over the top last night, for most of the programme.

I agree Clawdy. As someone else said last night, he stumbled and nearly fell over. How could that possibly warrant a score of 9 from Shirley and her comment that his dance was exquisite.

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-24 09:43:06

The marking of Wynne’s dance was not of his doing, expect
social media will say he fixed it.
