Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

I agree about Amy/Lauren.
It's back to the old thing, that you can be very good at something, but unless you're a good teacher it's hard to pass it on. Lauren obviously gets the best out of JB. Diane is another good teacher.
Amy possibly took on too much, you soon, but I respect her.

I can’t recall anyone getting to the semi final before (correct me if I’m wrong) who has been consistently the worst dancer in recent weeks, as Pete has been.
Usually, after Blackpool, the viewers stop voting for them.

Having said that, I voted for Pete this week, and Chris, who is probably the next worse, as I enjoyed their performances.

Don’t care for Sarah, although a much better dancer.

I think (and hope actually) that JB gets to the final and wins, as to me, he has improved week by week and is now very good, plus he seems such a nice chap.

And also think he should have had Lauren as his partner from week 1. I like Amy, and think she has gone through so much, but with hindsight should have not been partnered up this year. Group dances would have been sufficient to get her back into it all. Only my opinion, of course.

Why should Pete be nowhere near the final? The public are voting for him, yes there are better dancers they have had training.
It's a dance show where people vote for their favourite, it's simple as that. If it was s dance compition there would be no audience vote. As a viewer I just look at the performances I like.

Pete should be nowhere near the final

Exactly!

Oh no. It looks like I'm going to have to eat my ballet tights after all, as promised! Pete should be nowhere near the final.

I've said before, there is room for one person to bow out now, because we currently have 5 couples queueing up for the semi final. That would leave one too many for the usual 3 in the final. I'm sure the BBC did it like this incase an Amanda Abingdon, or an injury, scenario happened again this year. Pete could say he will go now of his own accord, but actually why should he? He is getting the votes. I can't remember because I was abroad for the first few shows. Has Pete ever been in the bottom two? Wasn't JB once?

Used to love this programme. It's now nothing short of a farce imo.

Sweetpeasue Sun 01-Dec-24 21:01:43

Very sorry for Montell. She did so well with no dance experience, unlike Tasha.
I'm hoping for JB to win .

Millie22 Sun 01-Dec-24 20:09:17

I do feel sorry for Montell. 4 dance offs is a lot.

So disappointing. At this rate Pete will be there till the final 😡

I don't think Pete will be able to master two dances for next week.

Sparklefizz Sun 01-Dec-24 20:04:22

Johannes is wonderful for building up women's confidence! He seems a lovely person.

Grannynannywanny Sun 01-Dec-24 20:02:32

So disappointing. At this rate Pete will be there till the final 😡

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:58:52

Oh dear, Montell, you made me cry.

harold Sun 01-Dec-24 19:58:52

I watch occasionally, It seems a bit manic when everyone in the audience are screaming; plus I find the shots of dancers practicing a little boring. But I shall probably watch the final
anyway.

Fleurpepper Sun 01-Dec-24 19:57:48

Travesty

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:54:27

Neither deserve to leave.

Sara1954 Sun 01-Dec-24 19:52:51

Well unless Tasha falls flat on her face, I guess we know the result

Lomo123 Sun 01-Dec-24 19:49:59

Bye Montell. Shame I really liked her.

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:43:48

Oh no! Poor Montell again!

Unfair.

Pete gets through because more people have heard of him (whoever he is!) than an Olympic athlete.

She is very graceful and a far better dancer.

Calendargirl Sun 01-Dec-24 19:42:05

Well, I was hoping it would be Sarah in the dance off against Tasha.

That would have made the judges earn their money.

Fleurpepper Sun 01-Dec-24 19:41:37

It's just awful- can't believe they are in Dance Off again.

Sparklefizz Sun 01-Dec-24 19:40:23

Oh no! Poor Montell again!

ginny Sun 01-Dec-24 19:39:31

How ridiculous. I’m not sure I can bear to watch.

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:38:10

It's not a dance contest.

Grannynannywanny Sun 01-Dec-24 19:30:13

No surprise to see Pete through thanks to his social media followers. Shocking to see Tash in dance off. Whoever joins her has no chance.

rafichagran Sun 01-Dec-24 12:48:14

I think it will be Chris versus Montell again in the dance-off.
I think Pete should do the decent thing and offer himself.

Why? The voting public keep him in, some phone and pay money to do so. It would be disrespectful to them.
As I have said and I believe posters upthread have said, it is also a popularity contest and Pete has a big following.
In a true dance contest you would not get trained dancers like Tasha and Sarah, competing against Chris and Pete.
