Enjoyed the musical version but no one can ever compete with Robert Donut.

Yes. Enjoyed it very much. Some of PC's songs were very beautiful as was their acted relationship.

It was always too sad for me to watch right to end. X

I didn't enjoy it at all, I much prefer the non musical ones especially the Martin Cunes version.

I didn't like it as a musical, I much preferred the Robert Donat version.

The 1969 version was partly filmed in the town I live in, some people remember the filming and the actors being here.

I loved the original with Robert Donat but the Martin Clunes version was every bit as good and in some ways better in my opinion.
I have seen and enjoyed the musical version.

I’ve also seen a later version with Martin Clunes in the lead. I don’t usually like remakes but I thought it very good. IMO he’s an excellent actor,

I've seen this film a few times. It's lovely. Also sad.

I loved the film and book.
My husband went to the Leys school, as did his father and uncle, Mr Chips was based on a master there called Mr Balgarni
My late father in law was a pupil in Balgarni’s time.

So wymsical and charming. I enjoyed every minute of it. Peter O Toole as Chips and Petula Clarke as his wife.
