Barrister Maria Mulla told journalists of a client who was threatened by ex-security chief and former Scotland Yard detective chief superintendent John Macnamara.

What a coincidence that Al Fayed's chief of security was an ex-Scotland Yard DC Superintendent and that the Met Police took no action when complaints were made to them.

The man was an absolute disgrace - I was thinking earlier that the stuff that used to go on in the workplaces of the 80s and 90s would not be acceptable now - I had several banking jobs in the 90s where I was instructed to wear short skirts (I told them where to get off 😂) and there were a lot of lechy, obnoxious older men around - it was just more blatant back then - more power to these ladies for finally exposing the dirty old sod

The doctor who gave the young girls internal examinations is telling the truth as she has not done anything illegal. The girls apparently consented because they were persuaded that it was a welfare check.
If that’s not an odd request from an employer I don’t know what is.

I wasn't there to know what happened, neither were you. I was describing what could have happened. As someone has said, his predilictions are well known.

There were also plenty of people around then, too, who would not have hesitated to blame the girl. She may have been too shamed and embarrassed to mention it to anyone - and his attentions probably shifted from her once she was no longer the virgin he had made sure that she was before he focused on her. Blocking it out of her mind and keeping out of his path is what a lot of girls would do.

This is all very one sided on here today.
We have no means of knowing who said what to who but anything is being believed whether true or not.
I’m all for waiting for proof of any crimes committed, but that’s me.I won’t be swayed by emotional comments otherwise.

Wow Oreo, what a complete lack of understanding. You are obviously a strong woman who has never known what it is to be poor, desperate to keep a job, scared to rock the boat, or to be frightened to question a powerful man. It's not so long ago that women took a vow of obedience when they married and that rape was not recognised between husband and wife. It was drilled into many women that these rules applied to all men whether you were married to them or not. You are very fortunate if you always felt able to speak up for yourself and fight your corner but you should not shame those who have been unable to. You should be thankful that you have never been that person in those circumstances.

Put yourself in her place, then you will get it. If you were a slightly built girl in your teens, taken by security guards to a locked room where a powerful man demanded sex, how would you walk out? Saying no could be your first response, slapping his face the next, but without the key you won't get out of that door.

There is every possibility that Kier Starmer wasn’t head of the CPS at the time the first girl made a complaint.
Starmer didn’t take up the post until 1st November 2008.
And yes the complaint was made in 2008 but even if he was in situ I doubt it would have landed on his desk.

Not enough corroborated evidence would mean that those lower down in th CPS would not escalate it to the Director.
There seems to be some questionable behaviour by the Met.

The football club he owned said it was known what he was like and that they put in extra precautions to protect the women's team from Al Fayed; no women were allowed to be left alone with him.

Didn’t see it, but why did the women allow it? Nobody has to put up with this type of sexual abuse after all.They didn’t complain about him or leave the job at the time? Why come out with it now he’s dead and can’t defend himself?

Can't defend himself? He wouldn't have much of a defence would he. He was an odious rapist and a highly corrupt and unpleasant individual. The "old boys club", including the MET, were almost certainly complicit in covering for him.

Whether the women should have walked out of the job or not, it doesn't lessen Al Fayed's crimes or mean he could do whatever he liked. You surely don't condone that or want to paint him as a victim do you?

If you do Oreo, you are misguidedly defending a multi millionaire who lived a long and privileged life and who was involved in a multitude of illicit activities, including the "cash for questions" scandal in the House of Commons.
