Watched the first 3 episodes on iPlayer and am hooked.
Totally unfeasible but brilliant.

Loved it all…binge watched the lot! Hope there is a second series just my type of TV. David Mitchell and the whole cast are fun and serious at the same time. I love puzzles, and this is a whodunnit within a who dun it!😁😁😁

Disappointed with Ludwig. I usually like David Mitchell (Upstart Crow, Would I Lie to you) But I found Ludwig boring and fell asleep. Even the wonderful Anna Maxwell Martin felt wasted in this. The best I can say about Ludwig is that it's better than the tedious"Night Sleeper". My current favourite series is Colin from Accounts.

I enjoyed the first episode. I found him endearing and like Monk played by Tony Shalhoub. I'm deliberately not binging it but watching every week. I love Anna Maxwell Martin

Excellent, I’m recording it so will look forward to it, I tend to like David Mitchell in anything.Loved Upstart Crow.

Loved it!

We have just finished episode three and are really enjoying it. We like David Mitchell and were in the audience for a recording of Upstart Crow. It was quite fascinating to see behind the scenes how it all comes together.

Binge watched the whole series, really enjoyed it. I have never watched anything else with David Mitchell in so went with an open mind.

As I’ve read so many good reviews , I decided to watch the first episode again.
Still think it’s daft and won’t watch any more.

Only really knew David Mitchell as a comic so was surprised to see he was really good. Enjoyed the first episode and will watch the rest. Also been enjoying Chelsea Detective, Nightsleeper and Apples never Fall. Amazing to see a few good things on the TV at once.

Have you not watched Upstart Crow? He's brilliant in that.

Will try and find it, thanks for the tip!

I find it...after three episodes, half really good and half not . Like the silly parking and driving...but sometimes inspired so as someone says here that it gets better..I will keep watching.
There is a very popular genre of neurologically atypical people solving crimes (Astrid and Woo) They are brilliant (French and Korean). And the Good Doctor can be captivating and fun (Canadian). I think they should have gone for it. Its a bit timid on that front. Leaving it a bit unconvincing.

I am enjoying it - it has the Jonathan Creek/Numb3ers vibe of the person who can use skills from another field to solve crimes plus a bit if the Death in Paradise/fish out of water ambience thrown in.

Cold -you've answered my query .
I read that Ludwig is like Jonathan Creek , which I love .
So I'll be watching it !

to be fair Ginster I nearly gave up on the first episode as well, but it does get progressively better.. Maybe go backwards!

Interesting & funny at times. Schnoodlelove, I too would recommend Astrid, a French series which I watched originally on More4, I think.

IPlayer has a lot to answer for!
I have a numb bum and have watched all 6 episodes back to back this afternoon and evening.
Half way through episode 6 - getting very dark and exciting! 😱😱

I really enjoyed this series.
It has obviously been left at a point when another series is probable, I do hope so.

Enjoy David Mitchell in everything, am really enjoying it.

Watched episode one last night. Would have binge watched it but had to get up early today so needed to get to sleep. Reminds me of the quirky stuff that Hugo Blik (sp) used to create for tv.

That was my feeling -and hope- too!

We watched one episode, that was enough.

I loved the background music myself. I thought it was an arrangement of various pieces by Beethoven (hence the 'Ludwig'). I found the first episode great fun. It's all a piece of nonsense.

Luckygirl3 Mon 30-Sept-24 10:57:08

I watched it all - I think it is excellent.

Parsley3 Mon 30-Sept-24 11:04:07

Only one episode to go. I love it.

MayBee70 Mon 30-Sept-24 11:09:54

I’m loving it. However ( and this is why I tend not to watch detectives type programmes) as usual I haven’t got the faintest idea what is going on.

Hear, hear,! Yes David Mitchell, there is something about him! He seems like a clever, gentle soul & he has the most marvellous, benign & clever face. No wonder he managed to bag the vivaous & bright Victoria Coren as his wife. 😊
