Sad to hear of his death, not realising his age.
A Star is Born, one of my favourite films, and enjoyed his music over the years, very easy on the eye also..( sorry for the objectifying, )

Thanks Bridie22 for this thread.
' The very best of Kris Kristofferson' CD lives within reach of my workroom seat and is played often. Sadly I no longer have anything to play the vinyl now which is a shame as it was a collaboration with Rita Coolidge. 2 amazing voices.
I'd have loved to have seen/heard him perform live.

Just watched a lovely video of him and Sinead O’Connor singing together “Help me make it through the night”.

I have followed Kris ever since seeing him in A Star is Born when it first came out. After that I was lucky enough to see him perform at Birmingham Hippodrome with Rita Coolidge. Such a talented good looking man.

I went to see him at The Free Trade Hall in Manchester in the 70s
He was amazing and I was smitten. I do remember that he kept on bringing "this woman" on to sing with him. I was well miffed. Found out later it was the wonderful Rita Coolidge. Not sure if they were married at the time. He was brilliant as a song writer and performer. Loved his "Silver Tongued Devil". I was shocked to realise his age as he'll always be that age when I first saw him.

What a legend, such a talented man, so sorry to hear of his passing. I remember going into town to see A star is born when it first came out, such chemistry between him and Barbra I loved him in the film so much I went again the following evening. A timeless film that still gives me a flutter in my tummy when I watch it.
I saw him perform at the Royal Albert Hall about 10 years ago and he still had those gorgeous twinkling eyes.
Such a talented man who wrote so many songs which were hits for other artists, RIP Kris.

I felt genuinely sad when I heard that Kris Kristofferson had died, his music was part of soundtrack to my life.

I’m glad to have had the opportunity of seeing him play live a couple of times.

Loved him and his songs, my favourite is Me And Bobby McGee. Best version for me is Janis Joplin's.

I was so sad to read of this. We saw Kris Kristofferson in concert some eight or ten years ago. It was a fabulous evening, with Kris, his guitar, a mike and a stool. He was funny and self-deprecating, as well as the wonderful music, and it was as though we were sitting in a room with him, it felt so personal.

I hope he really does have Leonard Cohen’s lyrics on his grave, as he has stated he wanted.
Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.

‘Me and Bobby McGee’ is one of my ‘lifetime playlist’ songs, though the version I have is Gordon Lightfoot’s.
Thank you for the Rolling Stone link, Jane43.

Clever too, he was a Rhodes scholar and gained a Masters Degree in English literature; he could recite Blake from memory apparently. I am attaching an article from Rolling Stone which is about twenty songs he wrote.

R.I.P. Kris.

Our boys loved Convoy.

RIP Kris.

My favourite song is 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' which he wrote. According to an article I read, he hired a helicopter and landed on Johnny Cash's land so that he could get him to listen to it.

One of my sons in law is called Kris as his mum was such a huge fan.
