Johnny Walker has been with me on my musical 🎵 journey from Radio Caroline as a Teenager ,, listening on my crystal radio set with headphone in & the aerial clipped to the curtain wore ! Radio 1 as a young Mum & finally Radio 2 where he stayed bringing back those sounds of the 70’s . I did also manage to get to see him in an evening with JW which was lovely .
Thank you for the music sir 🎵😘

Ziggy62, me too. The best DJ and an incredibly lovely person.

I think Bob Harris is taking over from JW.

End of an era. 🥲

Yes, it’s such a shame. We always listen to him on bbc sounds.

He turned Sounds Of The Seventies from a late night one hout show into a big hit on Sunday afternooons. I really enjoy the interviews, listeners requests, someone phoning in with a seventies hit that meant a lot to them, and Johnnie's enthusiasm for the music. I just hope the show is kept going with the same sort of features.

That's so sad.I remember feeling so sad back in the 70s when he left for America. Such a brilliant broadcaster.

Today he announced that Sunday 27th October will be his last show on radio 2
I've been aware for some time he's quite unwell. His Sunday afternoon programme has been such a big part of my life life for so long
I can't remember when I started listening. My first husband died in 2007 and this amazing DJ helped me through many a difficult weekend.
Since I met my new husband 10 years ago we have listened most Sundays, whilst either sitting outside having a bbq or , like today, with a roast dinner.
I can't believe how upset I feel
