Is anyone watching streaming services more?

I just watch BBC Iplayer, ITVX, Walter presents and catchup 4 and 5 on my laptop.. I think terrestrial TV is pretty abysmal ATM

I could add I haven't seen an episode of Coronation St for well over 20 years and can only remember seeing Emmerdale when it had Farm in the title. Also at work, I haven't heard the soaps mentioned in conversation for years, and audience research suggests younger people have very little interest in them.

I'm sure we could all add what we don't watch, if it makes us feel superior .

I don't think it makes me superior by saying this, it's just my family never watched these programmes and I never got into the habit. It is a fact, though, none of the soaps attract big audiences these days as viewers have so much more choice.
However, more on topic, Youtube must be the most complete television service ever. Here you can watch someone reviewing first class on Avant West Coast, a seventies sit com repeat, a Led Zeppelin concert and a car test in one evening.

I only watch BBC news on live TV. I watch iPlayer, X and prime mostly.

We have Netflix, Prime, Apple, Disney and Now. We pick and mix. I'm currently enjoying Showtrial (BBC1), Big Brother (ITV2) and Who Do You Think You Are (BBC). I've watched Corrie for years (ITV), and also try to catch Question Time (BBC1) PMQs (Parliament Channel) Laura Kuenssberg (BBC1) and Peston (ITV when it's on). I pick up old UK shows on U, and dip in and out of the digital channels depending on what's on.

I sometimes have Jeremy Vine on in the background in the mornings, as I like to keep up with what people think about current affairs (a bit like GN ) but JV himself really irritates me. He seems to think he's young and cool, when he really isn't, and he's quite offensive to so-called 'Boomers' by blatantly distancing himself, despite being only a year younger than the youngest ones. He drags the Marketing-inspired 'generations' into every topic, and it's tiresome.

I don't see a lot of any of this live, but stream it when I want to watch TV, which is often late at night, as I don't sleep well. Every now and then I like to binge a series over a weekend - I hole up with some knitting and hot chocolate and stay on the sofa for hours . My favourite binge series include Vikings (excellent if you haven't seen it) Chernobyl, The Detectorists and Stella.

We watch Coronation Street and BBC news on mainstream television, and for that reason we pay our tv license fee. However we rarely watch any other programmes on live television, although at the moment I’m watching Joan on ITV television. Otherwise we watch iPlayer or the other streaming services such My5 or X. We find dramas to watch, some of which we watched before but are happy to watch again. My husband uses YouTube to watch and listen to music, in particular classical music.
Most of the programmes on television are out and out rubbish in my opinion. Very little drama these days or quality programmes.

I like Youtube because of the huge range of what you can watch for free. I enjoy watching musical performances and found a charming video of a Czech cellist and a pianist playing Haydn's Cello Concerto in D Major. Also there are hundreds of classic sitcom episodes and dramas to watch.

Very rarely watch terrestrial tv.

I never watch reality television, unless you class Bake Off and Police Interceptors as reality shows, and never watch channels like ITV2 and ITV Be that are just full of reality shows. Also I never bother with daytime gossip shows, the afternoon games shows like Tipping Point, soaps, football and Saturday night entertainment shows.

I tend to record terrestrial TV and watch it later. I can also skip through the adverts. I do like to binge watch series on BBC iPlayer etc. if they are available, rather than wait a week for the next episode e.g. Ludwig

I don't watch reality television, other than Bake Off, which seems to be all there is on TTV at the moment.

I do have a watchlist on each of the streaming channels but I seem to spend ages scrolling through trying to decide what to watch. I have generally forgotten what is on what channel. I think I should make myself a note somewhere!

I watch Talking Pictures on TTV quite a bit as I love the old films. I watched a horror film from 1948 the other day. The special effects must have been quite cutting edge at the time but it all looks so corny now - which is part of the appeal.

I like this show if the topics and guests are good, it's far more interesting than the banal gossip on This Morning. I might also watch a classic film on Film 4 if I'm at home in the afternoons. However, like you, Youtube and the I Player come on at night if there's nothing else on.

I tend to record programmes on terrestrial channels and watch them to suit me interspersed with iPlayer, Netflix etc. Suits me very well.
