I enjoyed this, and wish there were more episodes to come. The longer length of the programme, with a different location and crime in each makes for a good watch.

I liked the portrayal of a very competent DCI being launched into difficult investigations to see things through. It was good to see in the third episode that her arrival wasn't always treated with hostility - possibly because the senior officer was female?

The storylines suffered from a sudden rush to tie up all the loose ends in the last 20 minutes, but I overlooked that because I enjoyed the characters of Ellis and her sidekick.

The text message from her daughter said something like "grandad said to ring you"

No, I couldn’t read the messages either!

I assume they had a disagreement/falling out in the past, Ellis has, in between solving all these murders, tried to make amends, and finally, Grace, the daughter, has responded, willing to meet up maybe, or just said “Hi Mum”, making it all ok.

Probably, as often seems the case with detective stories, her work has come first, leading to family feeling left out and second best.

Ellis has mentioned being on gardening leave in the past, no doubt time off trying to sort things out, but has been lured into returning to work.

”We need you, Ellis, you’re the only one who can find this killer….”

Help please, my eyes even with glasses can’t see the text messages Ellis is receiving I think from her daughter.
It was the last episode tonight!
Is there someone who can tell me about this sub story is about. Thank you.

I wasn't too impressed until about halfway through the first episode, when it grew on me.

I'm not a fan of the actor playing Ellis when I've seen her in other things, but have now started watching episode 2 and it seems ok.

There are loads of things wrong in the police procedure so you have to accept that.

We watched it all. Decided after 15 minutes it was worth watching, watched to the end and it was!
Looking forward to the next episode.

Turned over after 10 minutes.

I only watched the first hour then went to bed as it was the +1 version, starting at 9.

I am going to watch the rest tonight, but now know ‘who dun it’.

Should have watched it at 8, but decided on Martin Lewis instead, didn’t realise it was only on one night.

Thank you Debbie58

The killer was one of the other girls father, the girl with the long dark hair . He killed the boy and kept the missing girl drugged in his barn, he did it because he's been abusing his own daughter and got her pregnant. She confided in the boy and he came to confront her father

I'm in France and so, whilst I use a VPN, I cannot log onto My5
using my computer. Something about inserting a code that would appear on my tv.

I watch BBc programmes on my computer.

I'd give it 3 out of 5. -watchable, not exceptional. Does rely quite heavily on conflicts between "quirky" major characters. Ellis herself is one of those detectives that have "flashes of insight".

Astitchintime Fri 01-Nov-24 14:12:21

Can't you watch it on My5? I did watch it all the way through but I don't want to put any spoilers on here

Dinahmo Fri 01-Nov-24 14:07:17

Help. I fell asleep last night about 10 minutes before he ending. So, I switched onto plus 1 and did the same thing.

Did anyone watch it and can you tell me the ending please.

I didn't fall asleep because I was bored - it's something I often do. No idea why.
