I enjoyed this, and wish there were more episodes to come. The longer length of the programme, with a different location and crime in each makes for a good watch.
I liked the portrayal of a very competent DCI being launched into difficult investigations to see things through. It was good to see in the third episode that her arrival wasn't always treated with hostility - possibly because the senior officer was female?
The storylines suffered from a sudden rush to tie up all the loose ends in the last 20 minutes, but I overlooked that because I enjoyed the characters of Ellis and her sidekick.
