When I watched the documentary I discovered the music of Jackson C Frank. He only made the one album and was quite a tragic figure but it’s quite wonderful.

Love Parcel of Rogues! Always listen to Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band at Christmas.

I missed out on Take 3 Girls sadly and was late to the Pentangle party. Still like them, Steeleye and Fairport C.

Gethsemane Again is one of my favourite songs of all time. He seems to have led a very healthy alcohol and drug free life in America unlike Bert who was an alcoholic.I went through a phase of playing Zero She Flies non stop. He’s made so many albums that I haven’t listened to. I must catch up! I’d love to see Richard Thompson, too. I love me folk music I do. Do you listen to the Folk on Foot podcast?

Ooh, thanks Maybee, about the Al Stewart info. I’d love to see him again. Saw him a few years ago at Hull and he was still great. First saw him at Portsmouth Poly and the audience wouldn’t let him go. He kept saying I’ve got to get to London.
Those were the days.

Yes, I loved the programme and the song even more. I have the album, Basket of Light with it on.

Someone put the Pentangle documentary on a folk Facebook page recently so I disappeared down a Pentangle rabbit hole for quite a few days. Take Three Girls made me want to live in a bed sit in London but I ended up moving to the depths of Cornwall instead. Somewhere in Cornwall there might still be a recording of me singing Hunting Song . We were all very taken with Pentangle at the time. Danny is still a very respected musician. Light Flight really does take us back to our youth doesn’t it! On another documentary Bert was with Al Stewart who is still touring. He’s actually performing in Birmingham next year and I’m really tempted to book a ticket.

I do remember the series and the theme tune. I would have been in my early teens when it was on tv. I did like the character played by Susan Jamieson for some reason.

Thanks MayBee70! Pentangle are great! Will see if I can get Take Three on you tube.

Pentangle were pretty damn good but I always thought it was a three way competition between:Pentangle, Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span.
All three had iconic female lead singers although Fairport lost their spark after Sandy Denny died.

Yes, like it was yesterday- and the theme tune. I'm sure Lisa Goddard's catch phrase was, 'Too silly!'

Yes, I loved this series and the theme tune. Ba dup a duda!

Thank you MayBee70!

I can remember Take Three Girls and I also remember the theme tune! I'm sure the first line of the lyrics were "Come down to London town see the people there" Don't remember any more words but I do remember the tune.

I absolutely loved Take Three girls and a couple of years ago looked to see if it was still available to view anywhere, but sadly not 😔
I sooooo wanted to live their life, being their fourth girl.
A different girl featured every week, and the theme music was very much part of it.
Thanks for the memory!

Yes I remember it and the Pentangle song.

Take three Girls launched the TV careers of Liza Goddard, Susan Jamieson and Angela Down.

You can watch it on utube. I started watching it a while back. I hadn’t realised Susan Jameson was in it..I only remembered the blond girl. I’ve been watching a lot of Pentangle stuff on utube. They did reform a few years ago but Bert Jansch then died. Jacquie’s voice actually improved with age. They were such an interesting mix of folk and jazz. I watched some documentaries about them. They were ( surprisingly) heavy drinkers and would sometimes leave Jacquie on stage singing a Capella and go to the bar. She’d be worried that they weren’t going to come back?

Who can remember Take Three Girls and the theme tune? I only have vague memories of it but I loved the theme tune. A few months ago I discovered an album by a group called Pentangle and they sang the Take Three Girls song.
