Not another celebrity accused of sexual misconduct ! This time it's Gregg Wallace! Kirsty Wark accused him from 2011.

Gregg Wallace allegedly wandered into the MasterChef studio 'completely naked' apart from a 'sock pulled over his penis' before throwing himself into a 'silly dance', a report claims.

Wallace, 60, is also accused mimicking a sex act in front of a member of the show's production staff who was kneeling down to clean his trousers during filming, according to the lurid and so-far unsubstantiated allegations.

The Daily Telegraph says it has spoken to a witness who claims to have seen both these alleged incidents. Gregg was also 'very touchy feely', the newspaper quotes the witness as saying. The grocer turned presenter is also accused of making 'disgusting sex-related jokes',

Good grief!
That would put you off eating anything made in there, wouldn't it.
Revolting.

Like many other women in these situations Kirsty Wark did report and he was ‘spoken’ to

The issue is men let’s not revert to more blaming of wonen

Interesting that Rod Stewart has posted on his social media that he is glad Wallace got karma. He said Wallace bullied and humiliated Rod's wife and made sure it was cut from the programme.

Well I do think Penny Lancaster is well able to stick up for herself so perhaps Rod was angry on her behalf.

Penny is a Special Constable and was on the front line until she sustained a knee injury.

I wonder what Monica thinks of it all?

The BBC claims that Wallace walked away from MasterChef today after BBC News sent a letter to his agent on Tuesday, setting out allegations from 13 people and giving him a right of reply.

They say he was warned after a complaint was raised in 2018, but new historical claims emerged over the summer of 2024.

I think these men get some sort of kick out of knowing they can "do as they want", and oftentimes it'll go unreported, because their victims don't want to be perceived as making a fuss, or wanting attention, or exaggerating.

Iam64 Thu 28-Nov-24 19:40:32

It was up to Penny to complain, not her husband. It seems she decided not to expose herself to the ridicule and criticism, scepticism she’d be well aware would be part of the responses.

Mollygo Thu 28-Nov-24 19:19:22

Yes and WHY did Rod Stewart not make it known back then AND follow it up if nothing was done?

Shinamae

I would think Penny told Rod not to make a fuss.

More than likely, but if it was so unpleasant, then it would have been helpful to other women.
Maybe afraid of the impact reporting might have?
Sad really, but unreported occurrences about some men’s behaviour seem to be coming to light at the moment, whether in church or entertainment.

All this is very true and I know nothing about this man but I dislike these cases coming up out of the past. I think people should speak up at the time and not let it drop.

I cannot understand why some of these women, Kirsty Wark for example, did not either call him out at the time or at least make a complaint. She wouldn't be scared of losing her position, surely?

I repeat what I posted above.
She did. He was spoken to.

Cossy Me too! I was in articles in the mid seventies. At that time the female intake was only 3%. The only thing that sticks in my mind from that period was a fellow articled clerk, several years younger than me ( I was 24 or 25) who commented that my OH would not marry me because we were living together, so why would he? In fact we've been married for over 50 years. To be truthful I can't remember the date but I always remember the date on which we met and that's the one I go by.

👏👏 What a horrid remark!!

Visgir1 Thu 28-Nov-24 18:29:28

He's always given me the creeps, I won't watch anything he's in.
I can remember as a young Hospital Physiologist being dragged across a patients bed when I was doing some tests, I called out and was rescued by the ward sister, some men (years ago) though it acceptable. This wasn't an isolated event in my career, groped several times, happened to many colleagues. You could complain but no one took any notice.

My sister as a young Student Nurse had a patient whom she was escorting to Theatre, he put his had up her skirt as they were wheeling him along on a trolly, needles to say she had a go at him, he thought it was funny. Hate it think what he got up to.

Hopefully the younger men know this behaviour is totally unacceptable.
But there's always one....

I also worked in a very male-dominated environment when I first started out. My boss at the time was a sexist pig - but he was also a very powerful figure in our industry and we knew if we crossed him or spoke out in any way, he could - and would - make it very difficult for us to find another job. When you're still young and in your first job, that's extremely intimidating.

Grannynannywanny Thu 28-Nov-24 18:25:36

I’m glad his behaviour has been revealed and he’s been removed from presenting Masterchef. I might even start watching it again . His presence and over inflated ego had put me off long ago.

However, considering what’s going on around the world, I was surprised to see this was the opening story on the BBC 6pm news . It was discussed for a full five minutes.

I think she did make a complaint at the time.. but it just exemplifies how uneducated he was that he didn't realise that she is a formidable opponent.. good for her

Smileless2012 Thu 28-Nov-24 18:09:30

Put me off too, then again so does the other one; I don't watch it.

sassenach512 Thu 28-Nov-24 18:08:17

I couldn't stand his gurning grin it put me right off Master Chef

GrannyGravy13 Thu 28-Nov-24 17:57:22

They just said on the news that he has stepped down from presenting Masterchef.
