I very much enjoyed series 1 & 2. I have yet to watch S3. Despite the dangers it’s easy to see how Norway had quietly become one of the richest countries in the world.

This was the Oil Industry one , wasn't it? Thoroughly enjoyed the storylines and characters. No spoilers but there are a few tragedies too.All adding texture.
Highly recommended.

Oh, I'll have to watch that.

I lived in Norway, and worked in the oil industry, in a small village on the west coast, for 12 years.

My job was to co-ordinate the company's engineers going offshore with the arrival of the equipment and spare parts they would need to service the valves (safety valves) on platforms in the North Sea owned by (then) Statoil and ConocoPhillips.

I got to know them, and their families. I've kept in touch with one who was a young apprentice when I joined the company and is now a fully-fledged engineer, and the father of two children.

... there were never any dramas though smile.

I loved the first series, but unfortunately, I gave up with the second as it wasn't gripping me in the same way.

Oh thank you. I’m always looking for something good to watch. Will give it a try.

I love this series and recommended it to someone here the other day.

I have finished watching series 3 and have now gone back to watch it again from the beginning.

I love how the characters develop against the backdrop of real events and how these things impact on the lives of ordinary people.

I think it is my all-time favourite and really hope there will be another series with very few cast changes.

Wonderful television.

Yes I thought it was so different and innovative that couldn’t stop watching. I learnt about NORWAYS’ reliance on the oil industry and have learnt about the divers and the platforms they work on..co-incidentally I met someone who worked the rigs back in the 70s and his shift work was 2wks on and then 2wks off …his job sounded so interesting but when we met up he couldn’t stop talking about it and felt a bit invisible

We watched the first series and enjoyed it. Somehow the second series has not gripped our interest. Perhaps we’ll try again.

Just binge watched this BBC iPLAYER series 1-3 and enjoyed it- not too much heavy stuff- more family crisis and a very determined young woman 👌
