I think she's mellowed a bit - possibly as a result of food critics appearing on tv where any harshness is vastly amplified and personalised compared to when it's just in print.

It's only since programmes such as Masterchef started featuring food critics that the lots of people now recognise them and they're almost moving into "celebrity" status.

I'm quite sure some of them have had to soften their approach a bit - possibly with a bit of media training.

She has a great deal of varied television experience. I can't think of anyone better, even though I don't much like her.

The reason I’m not sure is that Grace is primarily a food critic, not a presenter, and although I like her a lot and read her reviews regularly, her manner can be quite forbidding when she doesn’t like something. The contestants need a bit of encouragement, particularly at the outset.

She has a very dry wit so should be fun. I enjoy listening to her on the Kitchen Cabinet on BBC radio 4 from time to time. I think she’ll be good.

Great news! I respect and admire her.

Anyone would be preferable to Snoop Dog.
A rapper, apparently

I've also just seen this. Although as yet unconfirmed.

I really hope it's right, I think she'll be absolutely great.

It's a thumbs up from me.

Just read, so hope it’s true, Grace Dent is taking over from the utterly despicable Greg Wallace, always loved her, her books are so brilliant, an absolute favourite of mine😀
