Thanks floradora but I don’t have Alexa. Might look at podcasts.

Have a change and listen to a talking book . I find books that are about travel or biographies are good . I set a sleep timer but if I miss a bit in these kind of books it does not matter. Good to dip into in the night as well . I listen via yt Alexa device so no need to put a light on just speak to her.

The great thing about watching programmes at night on BBC catchup is that when your chosen programme has ended they then play another programme ‘ that you might like’. I often wake up in the early hours to find a programme that I’ve never heard of playing that is really interesting. Sometimes struggle to find out what the programme is actually called, though, because they can be archived programmes. I watched a whole series of programmes from years ago called ‘ The Curious House Guest’ that I discovered in this way. Can’t remember what I woke up to at five this morning; I’d never seen it before, found it fascinating but, annoyingly, after falling asleep again can’t even remember what it was about.

Have you looked at beyond paradise , its the Australian version , its quite good . Brokenwood mysteries is good as well

Beyond Paradise is the series set in Cornwall with DI Humphrey Goodman from Death in Paradise. Good bedtime viewing.
The Australian version is Return to Paradise.

Yes agree Brokenwood is definitely worth watching. We also enjoyed 500 words which is also set in NZ

I’m another one who listens to BBC Sounds dramas if I can’t sleep. They’re often in 15 min episodes just enough time to nod off.

Oh I love Vera and have seen them all more than once. I’ll have a look at the other one

I like VERA .. not too bloody or too intense… but at times I like watching the cutting edge series on iPlayer On the Edge of Life

There are a lot of interesting programmes on the radio too. Also what about using headphones and watching stuff on your laptop if you have one. There are lots of online audiobooks too. I recently listened to Jane Eyre and it was excellent.

I like to watch something in bed at night (often fall asleep and have to continue the next night) but I’m running out of ideas. I like programs like death in paradise, ,heartbeat and medical documentaries. Have started watching silent witness from the beginning.
