I listen to this a lot and find it very interesting. It is basically Gyles Brandreth chatting with various famous people. He name drops unashamedly, as is his wont, but the people he interviews are all very interesting and the format - "What is your very first memory?" can be very revealing. And, in spite of the fact that I disagree with his politics and his sycophantic attitude to the royal family, he is a good interviewer and seems genuinely engaged and empathetic with his subject.

I have just relistened to the episode with Chris McCausland and Gyles is reduced to tears by the replies, whilst also having the courage to ask the questions that we might all be thinking - "How do you visualise your wife's/DD's looks?"

The only episode that I have not listened to was with Boris Johnson - a man with blood on his hands from the pandemic and I felt it was inappropriate to give him publicity in a jolly interview while people are still grieving their loved ones.

But otherwise I think it is worth a listen.

He was on a podcast called My Teenage Diary ( annoyingly I have to subscribe to Audible to hear more of them: the ones I did get to hear, Debbie McGee and Anika Rice (sp)were really good fun) and he was really entertaining. I must admit that I’ve seen him in a different light since, although I, too, don’t like him politically.

The James Rebanks one should be interesting.
