I always enjoy this bit of Vernon Kaye's show (and previously Ken Bruce, of course)

This week's guest has been Pete(r) Doherty. I expected to dislike him intensely but he sounded very likeable. And his music choices were quite unexpected and enjoyable.

I had a bit of a crush on Pete Doherty and liked the Libertines.

Stopped listening to R2 when Ken Bruce left, but I’ll seek that out as I’d like to hear it.

Thanks kittylester

I watched the documentary about Pete as our nephews like his music. It was quite moving.

With all his past bad publicity, I had expected not to like him. I did like him and found him quite engaging.

Pete Doherty is a wonderful, gentle, intelligent soul.
He is also a very talented songwriter & musician.
He's so often underated & maligned by the shabby UK tabloid press!
Don't believe all the tripe they write. 😚

Well, he certainly has good taste in music.

Actually really disappointed in his music choice. Most were crap.

Ohh well! I bet someone liked it.
I'll have a listen tomorrow & see what it's all about.
Pete Doherty is too often maligned
& pre-judged by people who have only read the tripe written about him in the crappy tabloids. 🙄
