Just seen the film which was excellent. Great music and acting.

My only criticism was that at times Timothee mumbled, however perhaps that is how Bob Dylan talks.

Every time I see the posters I think Timothée Chalamet is much better looking than Bob Dylan ever was grin

I met Pete Seeger once and can confirm that he was a wonderful man. He loved music and loved performing.

Really looking forward to seeing this, it's had rave reviews. Just a bit disappointed that they have changed the famous "Judas!" concert to Newport, when it was Manchester. I was there, will never forget it!

I saw it yesterday. I was really disappointed as he mumbled through the whole film. Very difficult to understand him. Music was good though.

Dylan mumbled, Chalamet was so good at being Dylan

A wonderful film with some outstanding performances, Ed Norton in particular. We thought Chalomet was remarkably accurate in capturing Dylan's idiolect and mannerisms. We saw Dylan live last November and saw rwo songs sung live that featured in the film.

We’re huge fans of Bob Dylan and went to see it on Sunday - thoroughly enjoyed it. Timothée Chalamet was absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to see it again.

I’d watch it again. I’ve been re-visiting Dylan and Baez songs via my car Apple Music streamer. Wonderful

Thanks I'll definitely watch. I'm a huge Dylan fan.

There are two Dylan documentaries on BBC iplayer at the moment; Shadow Kingdom and Scorseses No Direction Home Part 2.

Oh my days, he was the face of Bleu de Chanel, the men's fragrance in 2023 - utterly gorgeous. Thanks for the recommendation !

Another recommendation, seen it today, brilliant.

Thanks everyone. My husband loves Bob Dylan. We will go to see it.

We saw it today, it was fabulous. We went for a meal afterwards and felt our age when our friendly young waiter asked if we’d had a good day. Not only did this old woman confuse him by saying we’d been to the pictures, he’d never heard of Bob Dylan. grin

I love Bob Dylan and often listen to his music. I will definitely look out for this.

I think my favourite line is 'I gave her my heart, but she wanted my soul, but don't think twice, it's alright.'

Nandalot Mon 20-Jan-25 22:12:45

Yes, I agree. Absolutely brilliant. Timothee Chalamet was so believable . I think that must be the way Dylan speaks but I agree,*NanKate*, he was hard to hear, but of course, at home, I am used to subtitles! I thought Pete Seeger was portrayed brilliantly as well. A lovely way to spend a dreary afternoon such as we had yesterday.

"If Not For You" is my favourite Dylan song. "Babe, I couldn't find the door, couldn't even see the floor ..."

My daughter is taking me to see the film this weekend. smile

You got a lot of nerve, to say you are my friend 🎼

We were going to see it yesterday, but we didn't make it. I will try to get there before it closes though.

Best line ever.
Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes. You’d know what a drag it is to see you
Priceless 😂

I’m just home after watching this movie. It was so good. Great acting and singing from the Dylan and Baez actors, good cast and dialogue.
There was something so poignant to watch 1961-1965 on the day of Trump’s second coming. All that hope and political commitment from young people. I don’t want to sink into nostalgia - I’m not under the illusion they were magical times but …….

MayBee70 Mon 20-Jan-25 18:21:48

I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews for it! Masters of War is probably my favourite Dylan song.

Just got back from seeing it. Loved every moment, in fact when the audience clapped, on the film, I wanted to join in!
I was singing under my breath. All those songs bring back so many memories.

foxie48 Mon 20-Jan-25 17:41:23

Also on my list.
