Really looking forward to seeing this, it's had rave reviews. Just a bit disappointed that they have changed the famous "Judas!" concert to Newport, when it was Manchester. I was there, will never forget it!

Just watched it on dvd. I thought Chalamet was excellent but I spent the whole film thinking ‘ that isn’t right…(especially the Judas bit)’. I know it was a film and not a documentary but it irritated me. How amazing to have been there for one of the most iconic moments in musical history. I saw Eliza Carthy at a local folk festival and a lot of the audience walked out. I wasn’t sure if they all had a bus to catch or if they were folk purists but I’d travelled back early from holiday to see her and I wasn’t disappointed.

I'm so happy to see such positive reviews. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and loved it. It had been in cinemas for a while and I saw a lunchtime screening so loved being one of just a few in the cinema. I adore going to the cinema on my own

My DD gave my DH a huge tome of Dylan’s lyrics. They are amazing and he won the Nobel prize for his poetry. We have seen him a couple of times and thought Timothee Chalamet was amazing.

The first time he played electric guitar was in Newport - Manchester came later.

I aim to see this as I am a Bob Dylan fan.

We loved the film, and the music took us right back to those heady 60s when we thought we could change the world. How naive we were.

Chalamet, not Chalomet.

Iam64, since we went a couple of weeks ago, DH has also started playing his songs….incessantly! Trouble is, although Timothee Chalomet’s portrayal of Dylan was excellent and his singing close to Dylan’s , I think I prefer the sound of Chalomet’s singing so I wish I was listening to his versions!
(Judas, might be appropriate here!)

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and loved it. I went with a much younger friend who knew next to nothing about Dylan and she really enjoyed it too. I had no problem with the sound once I'd tuned in to Dylan's mumbling.

I saw it today. Really enjoyed it because acoustic Dylan reminded me of my teenage years on the Isle of Wight and my cousin who played folk gigs at various south coast venues. By the time I met DH I was very much into ^electric* Dylan as was he. How he would have loved this film. 😢

I was introduced to Dylan in 1964 via tv. I lived in Manchester but wasn’t at the Free Trade Hall in 1965 when he was called Judas for going electric

Finally got to see it, Timothee Chalamet was so good, a lot of mumbling, but he was in character of course, so to be expected. Brilliant hearing all those great songs again. My OH was a bit ambivalent about going to see it, not a great Dylan fan, but now he is! a bit like me I was very late to appreciate Elvis, long after his death. We both enjoyed it very much. I didn't know anything about the hoo ha he caused when he diverged from acoustic/folk at Newport and went electric.

Dylan does mumble

We loved it too. Both Timothee and Edward Norton were brilliant.

I would have loved to have shared seeing this with my DH, also. A Dylan fan but as I am on my own now I didn’t want to go to the cinema alone with no one to share it with, I got a huge surprise invitation from DD1 last night to a pre theatre meal before the film for Thursday night. Not a Dylan fan as such but she says as she grew up listening to his music playing at home, she would enjoy it. So looking forward to this.

Mt61 I haven’t listened to her work so had no idea Adele covered it until I read a thread on YouTube that shocked many younger generations when they found out Dylan had written it.

I can’t wait to see it. Big fan. Saw him at the Royal Albert Hall in 1965. She’s Got Everything She Needs…One Too Many Mornings…Wonderful memories..

Saw this film last week, and loved every minute. Timothee is hardly ever off screen, and his performance is definitely Oscar standard. I wear a hearing aid and had no problem understanding the dialogue. The period detail is exquisite and every cast member is perfect in their role. I don’t think you would enjoy watching it if you’re not a fan of Dylan’s music, though! I used to hate his stuff when I was young, it was only when I was over 50 that I began to appreciate his genius.

I loved this film and I agree about Positively 4th Street. There are so many songs that bring back memories eg Boots of Spanish Leather, Mr Tambourine Man, Love Minus Zero no Limit and many more ......

I suggest for those who have hearing issues be like dh and find a viewing which also does subtitles. Dylan has always mumbled to my mind. It def isnt on my viewing list.

Thank you for this as I'm going to see it on Tuesday - also just put Dylan cd on (replacement for my original vinyl obviously) while I cook my dinner!
