I thought it an excellent, informative programme. Katya is a good reporter and the programme gave an insight into the lives of inhabitants. I look forward to next week’s programme.

Tourism is a valued economic boost to these areas, places of outstanding beauty. We visited Croatia. Do not go near Dubrovnik when the block-of-flats sized cruise ships visit as it is horrendously crowded. Montenegro was also beautiful but the coastal resorts spoilt by ugly hotels full of Russians. Tourist bring money but destroy beauty.

pascal30 - you won't be disappointed with the scenery!

Thankyou for recommending this programme.. I hitched all the way down the coast of former Yugoslavia (in my early 20's) and then got a train back home. It was such a beautiful country
especially the coastline with pine trees skirting the beaches.. I look forward to watching this series..

Another recommendation for excellent programme. A bit scary in parts - divisions between people seem to be worse than when the area was old Yugoslavia. Albania looks like an interesting place to visit now.

I’ve always Katya Adlers reporting.
We have traveled through these countries many time with the motohome, including Albania and Macedonia. I hope Katya goes there, it’s absolutely stunning.
I wonder how much has changed since China practically own the country.
Slovenia was our favourite. Not Serbia. Very aggressive people especially at the boarder.
On one trip they refused us entry.

I liked it but sadly, found it rather thin.

Thanks, I'll look out for it.

Was it about the war or about the countries now?

Last night I watched a documentary about the Balkan countries presented by Katya Adler.
Very good, would recommend watching. It's on Beeb 2.
