A Firestick will only give you access to Amazon Prime shows and films, it will not give you access to Netflix or Disney. Lots of nice gentle films and old TV series for free but some you have to buy

I've a Firestick but can’t get Netflix.

I definitely second Seaside Hotel for gentle.
Excellent choice

I’m not into any sort of continuous Series. I watch YouTube for a good laugh - and currently, it’s Darryl Vega.
The only things I watch on Netflix, are documentaries

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
I'll make a list and will enjoy working my way through them.
Looking forward to it.
Thank you again.

I endorse Seaside Hotel. We have watched all first six episodes twice; watched series 7 and 8 through Prime and I purchased series 9 and 10 (the last) from Coolshop in Denmark in disc form which I then sold on through ebay for the price I paid for them.
My favourite TV Show of all time. I just love Edward Weiss's musical interludes.

Were watching Sullivans Crossing which is a bit like Virgin River.

The film 'Fisherman's Friends' is a good one, based upon a real story about a fisherman's choir in Cornwall. Very gentle.

I liked fisk

I'm sorry I can't help, I've been watching all the Harlen Coben series' and went on the unbelievable and now I'm on apple cider vinegar and none of them are gentle!

I love the US sitcom Modern Family. The up to date episodes are on Disney+ but the earlier episodes are available on Channel 4 catch up. It’s gentle and very funny. Each episode is only about 25 mins long so it’s easy to dip in and out .

Clever scripts and very likeable characters. I watched 2 episodes earlier today with my teenage granddaughter. She introduced me to it and we both love it.

Seaside Hotel ( Walter Presents on Channel 4 world drama app) Danish but subtitles and totally lovely. Bit less gentle but great fun - Schitts Creek, Ted Lasso, Shrinking

I've just got a firestick for the TV and it seems I can access quite a few channels to say the least.
Life is a little tough at the moment, so I'm wondering if you kind GN's can recommend some gentle series/films for me to watch.
My friends have been raving about Grey's Anatomy for ages. I've just tried to watch it from the first episode, but I've had to stop as some of the scenes are 'too close to home'.
Thank you for any suggestions x
