I have no television but do watch some BBC programmes on iPlayer. I’m happy to support the BBC, which has suffered drastic cuts lately, but my usage is a fraction of average.
I wonder whether to renew my licence, given that most of the BBC’s output is rubbish.

I am currently looking at what the impact of not paying the licence fee is, under no circumstances do I want to support the BBC.

If you watch any bbc television programmes or any other live television who are legally bound to have a TV licence.
Otherwise you must complete a declaration that you are not doing so and will not do so.
Perhaps if there is a particular bbc programme that you want to watch you could go to the home of someone who does have a TV licence to watch it there.

Listening to Radio including Bbc radio does not require a licence.

What is it about BBC that you find so distasteful? I am curious. I find that over all the BBC channels there is a great variety and mostly made to a high standard unlike many other TV providers. I do not like all of it but preferable to others. It is good value compared to streamed channels.

I guess the latest furore over the Hamas influenced documentary has put a lot of people off.
Which is understandable.

I rarely watch TV, although DH does a bit. I see my tv licence money as paying for the joys of listening to R3 and R4.

I can’t imagine life without the BBC.
