Hasn't it just won a big prize?

Like Parksey, I also loved this film. The first half hour is where most of the sex happens, and then I started to worry that it might be going to get nasty but in fact it turns into the most fabulously hilarious farce. We just couldn’t stop laughing until the rather poignant ending.

I loved this film. It does have a lot of sex in it so don't watch it with your own family! It is very funny but also quite touching.

And yet, many of those commenting on sex scenes are quite happy to watch a woman being brutally abused and murdered. Each to their own I suppose.

If there's sex scenes I don't want anything to do with it, I'm not into porn!

That’s quite an odd and full on statement and seems to insinuate that any of us who do watch the sex scenes in films and TV programs, are into porn, which I’m pretty sure is miles from the truth!

Yes, exactly!

I think it sounds a really good watch, I will certainly watch it.

Sex scenes on tv don’t bother me, and I certainly don’t consider them to be porn.

Sex scenes aren't always porn.

All too often gratuitous - maybe not in the car of Anora, though. But I think I’ll skip it anyway. Maybe I’m getting like my granny who, when there was any hint of any such thing on the Tv, would go, ‘Humph - smut and filth!’ - and change channels. 😂

So do you reach for the 'off' button as soon as anything remotely sexual appears on the screen?

Thank you for the recommendation .
There's a growing list of films that I'd like to see.

It would be hard to have a film about a sex worker with no sex scenes, but I didn’t feel like I was watching a porn movie - it showed the transactional nature of the work and the vulnerability of the women. I was rather touched by the ending. If you don’t like sex scenes per se then don’t watch it.

Indeed, I suppose the sex scenes were done "in the best possible taste!"
Ha! Ha! Ha!

I've heard about it but haven't seen just yet. I'm planning to, though, it sounds interesting.

Anyone else seen this film? It won several Oscars. I watched it on Apple TV, though I think it’s available on Prime. It’s about a lap dancer/ sex worker who gets married to a Russian oligarchs son. There are a lot of sex scenes but I didn’t think they were gratuitous or cringy - they were part of the story. They showed the character Anora to be vulnerable and enmeshed in the sex work life on one hand but keen to escape it on the other. I enjoyed it.
