Loved the first episode. Lighting was perfect.

I player same..I found out it is filmed in UHD and unless you have an 4k Ultra High Definintion tv, programme is dark. It's awful

I didn't particularly enjoy it. The actual plot veered away substantially from Agatha Christie's original. The lighting was very dark and I was bored. Disappointed..

I’ve changed my mind. The final episode was disappointing! There was some awful, wooden acting, esp from Audrey, almost laughable, and loose ends were left dangling, such as who was Peter James and how was the orphan girl related to the family?

Matthew Rhys was excellent, though, his character had depth.

I missed it .
I liked the last production of Towards Zero and didn't think that anything could beat it .
Filming in the dark seems to be the trend .
I wonder why it's being stretched to three episodes .

I haven’t read the book or seen any other version of this. I enjoyed it, liked the slow pace and loved the fashions. I did think that the new Mrs Strange was not well-cast, I felt she needed to be more differentiated from Audrey, apart from the different hair colours. I thought Jack Shepherd as Thomas was good, he can turn from meek to malevolent in a moment, it gave me the creeps!

I’m off to watch the last episode now.

I watched the first one last night. What I found was missing was atmosphere. In the book and the episodes with Joan Hickson or Geraldine McEwan there was a sense of threat which keeps you intrigued.

I also thought it was far too slow. It didn't need three episodes to tell the story! I've watched one and a half - not sure if I'll watch the rest.

Hope you feel better soon Doodledog 💐

I like it when they rewrite AC stories, as I have read them all and seen them 100 times in film and TV. I didn't think much of this one though.

It was far too long for a relatively slight story, I didn't identify with any of the characters, and I preferred the GM McKewan version too.

It passed the time as I've been in bed ill for a couple of days, though.

I read something this morning on my iPad , but can’t recall it that this version is based on Victoria and David Beckham when it was reported he was having an affair.
Really!!
Agatha must have had amazing foresight or else turning in her grave as to how her books are rewritten.

It's a brand new version Grandmabatty complete with woke casting as usual these days.

I missed it was on but will give it a go. I enjoyed the episode with Geraldine McEwan (not my favourite Miss Marple) as nd lovely Tom Baker as the major. I think it has the actor Julian Sands in it too, who sadly died recently.

BBC1 Sunday at 9 GG13 I think, delayed yesterday - football

I tried watching it, but found it quite tedious. I watched three quarters of it, then gave up. I shan’t watch any more of it.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Mar-25 12:06:32

What channel is it on please?

westendgirl Mon 03-Mar-25 11:56:33

I had no problems with the lighting.

NanKate Mon 03-Mar-25 11:38:13

I enjoyed the first episode but I found the lighting was almost non existent- all dark.
