Has anyone watched this? It stars Martin Compston, as an architect who moves into a (fabulous) house in Glasgow with his wife and children, to find there is a very sinister man living in the basement flat*. He accuses them of abusing their children, which is not happening. I won't say more in case it spoils anything, as I don't know how it's going to end.

I'm starting episode 3, and am enjoying it. It's creepy, but not horrific, and not supernatural, if that helps anyone decide whether to watch or not.

As an aside - I'm not sure how the accommodation works - can you have a basement flat owned separately from the rest of the house? What about the freehold? It's a beautiful house though.

Ooh, sounds right up my street! Thank you for the recommendation. That's tomorrow's viewing sorted.

Yes, there are basement flats that might be rented or just sold. Hopefully they knew before they moved in though!

I've finished it now.

The ending is daft (as these things often are) but it's a good watch. Enjoy, Rula.

I’m looking forward to watching it. I’m off on long haul travels today and have it downloaded to my iPad 🙂

Yes, you can have a basement flat that is separate from the house. A member of my family has lived in a house with a separately owned basement flat below them. That was in southern England though, not Scotland.

It is on my list.

Yes you can own a basement flat separate from the main house here in Scotland. Most properties in Scotland are freehold

My son has lived in a basement flat, but the landlord owned the whole house. It seemed odd to me, but I am no property expert grin.

Watched it this morning -- pretty good. I didn't quite understand the resolution of the problem, but it was resolved..
