Lovely song from Lovely girls. Stands a good chance.

Bridie22 Fri 07-Mar-25 14:02:43

Listened to it a few times today on the radio, the girls seem lovely... maybe the song will grow on me.

In all honesty eurovision is of no interest to me in my dotage.

It's an OK song but I doubt it will win. Happy to be proved wrong of course!

I'm backing Estonia. Loads of stuff on Tiktok. Sweden's the favourite.

Isn't it time to shelve this pantomime? It's a throwback to the 1950's. What's more I'll never forget (unfortunately) Cliff Richards' cringey performance of "Congratulations".

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 07-Mar-25 15:52:32

I never watch it.

It might be better if the music didn’t drown out the singing.
Doubt they will win whatever.

The Eurovision, a ghastly show of exhibitionism.
Still each to their own.

I love it! Can’t believe it’s coming up to that time of year again. Haven’t listened to any of the songs yet.

It's great fun and is hugely popular. Especially with the young generation in Europe. Massive audiences.

It's super fun.

Never ever watch it…

It's super fun.

I think it’s more popular now than it’s ever been.

I have an eclectic taste. We go to Concerts regularly at the wonderful Symphony Hall in Birmingham. Before Xmas it was a classical concert; on Wednesday it was the film music of Ennio Morricone at the Town Hall and tomorrow it is the ELO; a real blast from the past.
This year's Euro. entry ticks the boxes; sexy girls, catchy tune so here's hoping for the UK.

Rula Fri 07-Mar-25 17:55:30

Very true, Maybee70

I've been watching since the 60s and am glad I stuck with it during its more quieter years.

Social media has introduced it to younger generations and they're loving it

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 witnessed unprecedented success across multiple platforms, engaging a vast audience both in Europe and worldwide. A staggering 163 million viewers tuned in to the event through public service media channels, showcasing its widespread appeal. Votes were cast from 156 countries globally, underscoring the Contest's international reach and significance.

Of particular note is the remarkable youth audience share, the highest on record, indicating the enduring popularity of Eurovision among younger demographics. Leveraging the power of social media, videos featuring #Eurovision2024 garnered an impressive 6.5 billion views on TikTok, marking a substantial increase of 1.7 billion views compared to the previous year

Nuttynanna2 Fri 07-Mar-25 18:16:15

Don't watch it.

BlueBelle Fri 07-Mar-25 19:20:57

Sometimes watch bits but not a fan
And not all that keen on this song can’t see it being a winner personally, hopefully I m wrong
(None of my adult grandkids watch it ? )

MayBee70 Fri 07-Mar-25 23:38:52

Don’t like the song at all. Think it’s just a bit of fun. If we didn’t automatically go through to the final it would be eliminated early on. I do think there’s a knack to producing a single that is instantly likeable and we just don’t seem to have it.
