I absolutely love The Americas. The photography is out of this world. Every minute is fascinating and I really love Tom Hanks style of narrating.

I’ve never watched Spooks but I recognise his face from other things. I see that he was in Summer of Rockets, which I was only thinking about the other day. Wikipedia says he narrates audiobooks, too. I can understand that. He has a lovely voice.

I’m watching the repeat of Yellowstone on BBC2. Didn’t see it first time round. I’m trying to work out why it is different to The Americas. The narrators voice is far less in your face, similar to series such as Wild China. When I was a child, Yellowstone was on my tick list of places I wanted to visit when I grew up.

The narrator is Peter Firth (Spooks and other dramas)

I think the music is too intrusive as well. It is beautifully filmed, though. And I didn’t realise how little I knew about Mexico. I couldn’t watch the Orcas hunting, though. I find them really frightening.

It's a beautiful programme, but Tom Hanks (one of my favourite actors) does not have the right voice for it, unfortunately. I struggle to hear his commentary in some parts.

I've watched 2 of the series and agree I also find Tom Hanks voice overs rather irritating and the programme is very superficial but it's a fairly relaxing 45 minutes with some very interesting parts and beautiful photography.

I started watching it but found the voice over a bit irritating even though it was Tom Hanks, who I really like ( he does voiceovers on Ken Burns documentaries so he must be good). I guess I just wanted it to be David Attenborough. It seemed a bit twee for want of a better word. I will be watching it, though, because I watch everything like that.

The bits I've seen look very interesting; I was cooking while it was on this evening but did catch some of the part about the Mayans.

Must watch this on iPlayer when I can concentrate.

If any GNs like nature documentaries this series on BBC iPlayer is not to be missed. And beautifully narrated by Tom Hanks.
