Oh dear- I thought it was dreadful! I watched the first series, was not impressed, and thought I'd give it another go with this second series to see if it has improved - and in my opinion, it hasn't! Though it features lovely countryside and lovely properties, I'm afraid the stories are not remotely believable. Pity.
I enjoyed the first series more , but still watched and will watch the next episodes as well. I watch all these type of programs. The Chelsea Detective and Darby and Joan , all being renewed for a second series
If I get all my Friday chores done (Dyson playing up😩) it will be my afternoon treat and reward for a week’s serious gardening.
I love Marlow and spent four very happy years there in the sixties. It was an idyllic life for the early teens. Very Swallows and Amazons on the river but of course I took it all for granted at the time.
I have just finished watching series 1 on catch=up. Such easy viewing, totally implausible, but so is all such murder mysteries. Do like the clothes that Judith wears. Does she 'skinny dip' in the river, - surely not - just the impression I get. Looking forward to starting next series tonight. Able to watch and enjoy and do my evening knitting.
I watched an episode recently and quite enjoyed it, but would also like to know where the ladies got their summer dresses from, as I am searching for something similar but at present all I can find are dresses with frills, puffed sleeves, gaping necklines and very large splashy prints.
I’ve enjoyed all the books for the light fun that they are. I’m a very frequent visitor to Marlow and would love to live there, so enjoy watching the TV shows too.
We're enjoying it very much here. In fact my husband recommended it as he is a fan of the books, so men might well enjoy it too.
Absolutely implausible but entertaining fun and very pretty to look at. I love the scenes where Judith is swimming in the river - so peaceful and summery.
Anyone else watching this? Series 2 now, I really like it, very lightweight, but entertaining. Men will hate it, because it’s about middle aged women helping a female police detective solve murders in a small Thames side town. Available on Channel U on Freeview.
