Is anyone joining me for this year's extravaganza?

So far, we've got Chesney Hawkes.

Doodledog Tue 08-Apr-25 23:24:48

I don't think there is anyone I dislike, but I do need more convincing when people seem to be representing a 'community', whether that is people living with cancer, however Danny defines himself (is Danny trans or a gay drag queen - I don't know, but it doesn't matter to my point), or whatever. I prefer the ones who just go in as themselves without a 'cause' of any kind.

I think Trisha will be annoying very quickly, and Daley will probably be the 'dad' figure to her 'mum' one, which won't win him much support. Patsy is coming across well, and the young girl (Jojo?) seems better than I was expecting. We haven't seen as much of the others - well, we've seen too much of Michael's bottom. I hope he keeps that covered from now on shock.

I watched it last night, Micky Rourke was virtually undressing AJ with his eyes, he gave me chills (not in a good way)

I remember JoJo Siwa from Dance Moms (DD) was rather obsessed whilst studying/revising.

I think it’s good the makings of a ^vintage year^

Well, she is hardly dressed as a Sunday school teacher!! I didn’t think anything too offensive about it at all.Micky Rourke did not have a car accident his injuries were caused by boxing and then by some pretty crap cosmetic surgery..

I must admit I am liking Mickey, especially in that task, he was not selfish, and he did not take immunity. I don't like boring housemates or the ones that go under the radar, which I think Chris may do, he is nice enough but a bit vanilla.
I would like to see more of Daley and Jack.

LadyGaGa Wed 09-Apr-25 00:59:18

An interesting bunch! I really like Danny. He was on the Late and Live panel a lot last year and seems like a genuine and funny person. I think JoJo might be a grower. Michael is coming across quite well I think, he’s funny but shows his vulnerability. I like Trish but I hope she doesn’t keep acting like she’s interviewing people - I’d like to know more about her.
I hope Mickey stays in for a bit - I think he’ll make great telly. Some are a bit forgettable, but I’m sure we’ll get to know them more soon.
That’s my life sorted for the next 3 weeks! I do love BB 😊

Mickey is saying all the wrong things.

crazyH Wed 09-Apr-25 21:45:21

Just when Daley was saying he has Mohammed Ali, Trisha talks about meeting Nelson Mandela. I think Daley was a bit miffed. Actually, I would have liked to hear Daley’s story as well .

He is, but I do believe he is confused about what you can and can't say. I want to keep him in the house, he is controversial and will cause arguments and I find this side of him interesting.

I did find Tricia a bit overbearing tonight and I wanted to hear his and Jack's story on that. I like Daley at the moment and I am glad Mickey chose to keep him in.

Galaxy Wed 09-Apr-25 22:09:06

Mickley has been brought to the house in order to say the wrong things and then everyone can get enraged.

rafichagran Wed 09-Apr-25 22:12:03

I agree Galaxy

Toetoe Wed 09-Apr-25 22:20:54

So far so good I'm enjoying the tension building . Let's see how long Micky stays in , me thinks he may walk after a week . Why was the Conservative bloke showing his bottom while kneeling at the jacuzzi, his shirt had been lifted and rolled up deliberately or am I mistaken ?

Grannynannywanny Wed 09-Apr-25 22:21:20

Daley barely got his story about Muhammad Ali underway when Tricia cut in and proceeded to tell of her interactions with Nelson Mandela. I thought it was rather rude.

Cannot understand how anyone could watch it never mind be in it. It still goes on though.

I agree with all of this. Mickey seems like an alien, or someone who's wandered through a timewarp. But at the same time, he doesn't come across as wanting to be offensive, or even realising that what he says is likely to be hurtful. He is just confused, as his brain is not really engaging. How can anyone not know that 'fag' is unacceptable? I can understand not knowing the difference between transvestite and transexual (and tbf the odds are that there will be another term before the year is out), but 'fag'?? Maybe he is being paid a lot of money to stir things up?

Tricia is overbearing, I agree, and she virtue-signals all the time, but she always did. Her whole show was about telling people how to live, and people like that are very annoying (to me, at least). I am warming to Jojo. She seems really sweet and a bit vulnerable, which I didn't expect on first impression.

What was going on with Matt's cardigan on L&L? Hideous grin

Ah! The first attempt at an offensive comment! Collect your prize at the door as you leave, Allsorts?

We don't care. Sorry, but the opinion of someone who doesn't even understand why people can watch something (small-minded or what?) is irrelevant to those of us who do understand the show, and enjoy sharing our understanding.

Reality TV is not everyone's cup of tea. Some have tried it and it's not for them. This happens with many things in life, and is absolutely fine. Nobody will hear an argument from me about that.

Some just don't understand it. That also happens with many things, and again, as far as I am concerned, live and let live. There are things I don't understand, but I don't boast about it.

The difference is that many people enjoy learning about things they don't understand, and look for ways to learn as they go through life, which is great. Some don't, and that's ok too, but nothing whatsoever to boast about, IMO.

rafichagran Thu 10-Apr-25 00:36:26

I can't for the life of me understand why someone who does not like a programne wants to comment about it.
There is a variety of subjects on Gransnet, if you don't enjoy the subject matter of a post find something else that interests you.

I am still catching up with L&L, as (whatever Some People might think based on my viewing habits) I do have a decent social life and have had people round this evening, but as I can also multitask I have a question for BB fans.

If you were on CBB or BB, how would you play it? Would you try to be the 'controversial' one, the 'mum of the house', the confidante, or what?

I don't know the answer, really. I suppose a lot depends on why you are in there. If I had a book to plug, or a scandal to cover up, it would be obvious and I wouldn't even mention it. If I were trying to revive a flagging career, I might try to come over as different from how I'd been perceived before the flagging started, in the hope that whatever caused it might be forgotten. Many just seem to need the money, in which case I would probably just be as 'nice' as is possible when sharing a house with a dozen others, and hope for the best and a sympathetic edit grin

I'm going to bed now, but will sleep on it, and see if I have other/better ideas by the morning.

Doodledog 'if you were on CBB or BB how would you play it'

Much as I love watching, I would be absolutely hopeless as a contestant, I would be the 'lemon' in the diary room crying and saying that I need to go home...there is no way Jose that I could live with the others.

Michael - please put your bottom away and stop talking about sleeping in the buff, why would that ever be a consideration when you are sleeping in a room with others.

Trisha - please allow others to speak, it's not 'all about you'.

JoJo - I didn't know anything about her previously, but I really like her.

Daley - like him too.

Jack - need to see more of really.

Ella - didn't know anything about her previously, but she seems nice enough.

Danny - what an interesting character, coming across well I think.

Patsy - doing really well, think that I would enjoy her company.

Mickey - I seriously dislike him, his comments to JoJo were awful, what 72 year old man would ever speak about 'turning you straight' and 'I would tie you up' to a 21 year woman.
The teeth cleaning in the kitchen sink was nothing short of revolting.
I imagine that he is a bit smelly too, but obviously I can't know that grin

All of the others seem okay so far I think, but it's very early days...

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Apr-25 14:57:59

I may be wrong but I think Mickey Rourke has been payed $$$$ to stir things up and be controversial

I wasn’t a fan of JoJo in Dance Moms, but definitely warming to her in this.

I like Patsy and the drag guy, not sure about Trisha at the moment…

rafichagran Thu 10-Apr-25 21:46:56

I am really liking Mickey now, hope he does not go. I feel he has a vulnerability about him. He really does not understand what's going on as shown when discussing nominations.

I was hoping Ella would be nominated. She brings nothing to the show in my opinion. Of the ones nominated I would like to see Michael evicted but I don't dislike him.

crazyH Thu 10-Apr-25 22:10:44

I think Michael will go - he is harmless enough, but uninteresting - he could have bought a better wig 😂-

But he’s not saying it IS a wig??🤣🤣

Grannynannywanny Thu 10-Apr-25 22:20:34

I think Jack will be shocked to hear he had 8 nominations. Mickey is an interesting character and I’d like to see him saved for now . I felt a bit sorry for Michael. He looked genuinely hurt and surprised that he’d been nominated. From the 3 nominees I’d like to see Jack evicted.

crazyH Thu 10-Apr-25 22:22:41

YorkLady - really? Perhaps he’s going to surprise everyone on his eviction day. He will remove and show us a glorious head of dark hair. Oh, I can Google him to check his hair 😂
