I didn’t recognise him! He’s scrubbed up well hasn’t he in preparation for an upcoming role ‘Day Drinker’ as a guest onboard a yacht. He’s 61 now and it’s good to see him ditching the ‘grunge look’ with the beads, bandanas etc. okay it’s only for a production but I think he looks great!

I think he is handsome plus I don’t believe all that was said in the court case! Other women defended him!

I'm sorry, but if he behaved badly towards just one woman that's enough for me. Maybe around other women he behaved well, because they did everything he wanted them to, but who could trust him not knowing whether he might turn violent if you did something to piss him off.

He still abused his much younger girlfriend though... and fantasised about killing her to his friends.... Court in case in London decided that (that was the court case that doesn't get all over the media unlike the showtrial in the US which also found against him, as well as her.) He can be as handsome as he likes, I still wouldn't want my daughter going near him.

Sounds like they abused each other, tbh.
Looks way better like this, although I thought he had brown eyes. He alway looks like he needs a good wash.

Mt61- so you’re dismissing a high court judgement

I love his cheekbones.

@ shinamae
Didn’t he turn down the role in Thelma and Louse? Wasn’t it Brad Pitt?

I'm inclined to think that the Amber Heard episode still casts a shadow over him. Although, IMHO, she was using him to further her ambitions (what happened to her?) she still managed to throw enough mud, re Domestic Abuse, for some of it to still stick.
His good looks alone had women flocking to the court each day to throw flowers at him and ask for his autograph. That was disturbing in view of the nature of the court case.

Iam64 Mon 21-Apr-25 11:47:57

She wasn’t throwing mud - she made allegations, the court believed her, not him

Oh! I thought that Depp won the case? Heard sued Depp. Depp counter sued. Depp was awarded £12 million damages. Maybe I've got it wrong......

Does nothing for me. Just looks like an old man.

The case I refer to was depp suing the Sun newspaper for labelling him a wife beater. Of 14 allegations, the London court found 12 substantiated. The Sun won the case, the court concluded on the evidence that calling him a wife beater was not libel
The case in the US like the one here, did neither Heard or Depp any favours
It’s interesting how easily women criticise the woman in domestic violence situations
She fought back/she provoked etc etc

Yes indeed, some couples do bring out the worst in each other. It’s important to remember in the English court case, where Depp sued `The Sub newspaper , the Judge ruled that a newspaper article calling Depp ‘a wife beater’ was substantionallg true. The court found 12 of 14,alleged incidents against Bamber Heard has occurred. Consequently, Depp lost the libel case.

It should no longer surprise us that women defend men like this despite the fact 1.2 women each week are murdered by male ex/partner,

Excellent post.

My apologies Iam64 I misunderstood your post.

He could put his slippers under my bed, lol!

Really? You’d be joining the many women who bland the previous partner for provoking or exaggerating domestic abuse, only to discover they’re wrong

Iam64 Mon 21-Apr-25 16:55:46

Apologies predictive text on a roll here. It should say ‘women who blame’ previous partners

Labradora Mon 21-Apr-25 17:02:31

His aftershave ads always amuse me.
When he shimmies off and the wolves uncurl themselves and walk after him, I always think" they're not following you , Johnny .......they're hunting you........

Iam64 Mon 21-Apr-25 17:03:49

Labrador’s - great image, plus I’ve always rather liked wolves

Yes, Amber Heard was definitely throwing mud. They are called 'allegations'. And he was throwing it back.

The Hollywood Set thrive on the adage "bad publicity is better than no publicity."

Mt61- so you’re dismissing a high court judgement

Did the judgement come out in is favour?

Mt61 Wed 14-May-25 09:29:19

I think both brought the worst out in each other- drugs & drink didn’t help on both sides.
I preferred him when he was younger. Her not so much! Heard she tells lies- other cast members haven’t liked working with her.. but then you can’t believe all you read.

Iam64 Wed 14-May-25 17:35:45

No in England he sued the press for calling him a wife beater
Court heard evidence from depp and heard and concluded the evidence supported the press. That depp was a wife beater
