Lynx Advert

It is a stupid advert. It certainly wouldn’t persuade anyone in this household to buy Lynx.

In a previous life I worked in a large advertising agency and some of the ideas that they came up with were crazy.

If it had been a lynx rather than a dog it might have made sense!

And add to the list of weird adverts the one I've just seen for Dominoes pizza delivered to a couple in the bath...

It didn't make me want to buy the product...which is the aim of advertising...

Me too....

I’m terrified of dogs so I hate this advert.

We thought it was quite funny

I have seen that weird Lynx dog advert several times on Channel 5 where I'm watching a series.

I haven’t seen it I think I automatically blank out when the adverts come on so couldn’t really comment on any of them I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything through a tv advert have you ??

Adverts are useful as I can go to the loo; clean my teeth, get my comfy nightdress and dressing gown on so ready for bed later on. I often wonder how much the designers of some adverts get paid. Some of them go on and on and end with a swift mention of some never heard of company which mean nothing to me. As for the weird ones like the Lynx and the fried chicken one, well the world has enough madness without it being offered to us as we try to relax at home. However, I really like the Specsavers adverts as really entertaining especially the fellow late for the plane.

It's ridiculous and, in the light of recent dog attacks, disturbing too.
Where is the Adertising Standards Authority these days? Asleep? Disbanded?

Absolutely pointless advertisement.

I just think it is silly and an insult to the intelligence like most adverts.I doubt if anyone will take any notice of it and yes it could be seen as inappropriate if you actually watch it.

It's completely nuts. I don't know what weird world they live in but adverts are getting more and more bizarre. We sometimes sit wondering what on earth they're advertising. We've taken to recording most programmes and skipping past the adverts

I think a lot of people record everything so they can skip the ads nowadays. All my friends and family do, so I sometimes wonder what percentage of people actually do watch them. That begs the question, is it really worth these businesses paying out for the ads at all?

I have seen it and I don't understand it at all. What does it have to do with the product?

I'm glad I'm not the only one 😊

I’ve seen it, and thought what a disturbing, creepy, weird advert it is.

Sleepyhead52 Wed 30-Apr-25 19:42:53

Does anyone else think the Lynx advert which shows a 'dog' attacking a man because it is possessive of its owner is totally inappropriate? In this age of increasing dog attacks it feels completely insensitive. Tbf I haven't seen it other than on My Five so I don't know how widespread it is.
