At least she wasn’t dressed like Nessa. 😂

What's wrong with the way Nessa dresses?
Very elegant 😁

I thought it was good, she quick witted and intelligent.
Well deserved award.

I thought it was wholly appropriate - after all, she won it for playing Nessa so being Nessa for a few seconds cemented her win.

I agree, it was an apt comment from her anyway.

Couldn't disagree more OP, I didn't watch it but have googled the clip now and loved it.

Love Ruth Jones and love Nessa but I agree about the girl who won best actress. She was dire.

No. I could listen to Ruth Jones in Nessa mode for hours 😂

Me too!

I absolutely love all the awards ceremony, from the outfits, to the speeches, and the looks on the other nominees faces trying to look happy 😂😂😂😂

Oh I thought it was a brilliant touch and very funny.

Because it was amusing, you need to watch the whole thing, hearing part of any sort of conversation and acting on it can be rather dodgy!

I must be the only one who hasn’t watched the comedy series , although I know the chap made it quite big in America

I don't think they have to be "in character" & often aren't. There was a golden opportunity for Nessa's gag though & it was a good one- too good for Ruth pass by.
On the news 'cos it brightened a lot of people's mornings momentarily - what's not to like? I didn't watch the ceremony.

Maggiemaybe Mon 12-May-25 17:36:49

No, it made me smile. She only stayed in character for a couple of sentences anyway.

I enjoyed watching the awards this year.

I only saw the end of the BAFTA’s , waiting for ‘This City Is Ours’ to begin.

I realise why I don’t watch awards ceremonies, when the girl who won best actress waffled on, thanking the world and his wife, shedding tears, and just talked a lot of nonsense. I hoped she didn’t make whole thing over run, which thankfully it didn’t.

I didn't actually watch the ceremony, but seen a clip on the lunch time news, why do people , usually comedians have to be " in character " when accepting an award? Yes we know what your tag line is I don't need to see it every time you appear on anything. Does it sound stupid to you too?
