Has anyone been watching The Assembly. I can’t remember what channel it’s on but it’s a pure delight.
A group of people with autism and similar conditions ask questions of people such as Danny Dwyer and David Tennant.
No question is off the table and indeed some of the questions are hard hitting and unexpected. Sometimes serious and sometimes comedic.
I haven’t enjoyed a show as much for a while.
I found myself smiling at the pure innocence of the people asking the questions and the enthusiasm of the stars taking part.
A real gem of a programme and I really hope there’s another series.

I was just going to start a thread suggesting this too! The first one (pilot?) was on BBC and the rest are on itvx.

It is a delight isn't it? If only people opened their minds more to the diversity that exists in our society, rather than being frightened of it.

Yes I saw the Danny Dyer one first just by accident and couldn’t stop watching it. Loved the singing group and Danny Dyer’s reaction to it. Watched a couple of others but one appeared to be a compilation as if all those taking part were filmed in one day.

I watched the Danny Dyer one but couldn't see why he had to swear so much. He made it all about him. I don't find him very likeable but may check in on the others.

JaneJudge* thanks for reminding me which channel they were on.
I hope they’ll make another series as it was so refreshing to watch.

It touched the heart strings at times.

You’re quite right about not being afraid of the diversity that exists in our society. We should embrace it and be proud of it.

Indeed those musicians were so talented.

What are we missing if we fail to bring out the sometimes hidden talents in these precious people.

I’m so glad the celebrity guests threw their selves into answering the questions.

The man who danced too, was marvellous smile

I just liked the honesty, it really was so refreshing - they really didn't care that these people were famous smile The lad who knew everything about Strictly come dancing too!

We watched the David Tennant and Danny Dyer ones. They were great.
