I really enjoy The Chelsea Detective. Do hope they make many more of these.
Tried this Recipes for Love and Murder - and it is okay - but not in the same class as Chelsea Detective.
Strangely, I spent the first episode thinking it was set in Australia - before discovering it was actually South Africa. Reading about it, it stated the wonderful landscape - I found it quite depressing, - cars driven along tracks between lot of nothing-. Reminded me of Vera, which I used to enjoy - but the 'scenery' she used to drive along in that put me off that part of Englande.

Finished watching the first series of this on U last night. Binged the last 3 episodes. It's set mainly in a small town in South Africa and the scenery is stunning. The story revolves around a food/advice writer on the local newspaper who becomes involved with a murder. There's quite a "foodie" vibe running through it. The characters and their backgrounds/stories are really interesting and there's a sort of gentle comedy going on. Absolutely recommend this and I can't say that about much on the television apart from the lovely Chelsea Detective at the moment.
