Watched two episodes back to back and was captivated.

Intelligent, thought provoking, nostalgic, funny, shocking and just more than a little frightening...

Anyone else agree, disagree?

Cant wait to watch the rest

Is it like a documentary version of Years and Years? I’m currently watching a programme about church organs ( as you do) but when it finishes I’ll check out Shifty. It looks good!

Yes, it's a documentary. I just looked up Years and Years which was also very good but dramatised. This is a film documentary but the editing is exceptional...

I ended up watching a documentary about Charlie Drake in the end. I’ve just put it on for my partner to watch. I’ve got a carpet beetle infestation so am cleaning everything but I want to watch Shifty when I can concentrate on it and savour it. There is a documentary on the BFI site called Arcadia which is a surreal, magical, totally weird documentary about rural England which I love: keep meaning to buy the dvd as I can happily watch it over and over again…

Had a tea break and watched a bit of it. It’s brilliant!

I think my favourite was in Part 2 where the old lady is watching the CCTV camera on her telly. If you haven't seen it yet it is joyous!

Watched the woman who had been raped being interviewed by the police who just accused her of lying angry.

It was mentioned on Must Watch on BBC Sounds. Supposedly the man who made it usually does the voiceover ( or part of it). They recommended it, too. I must check out his other documentaries; I still can’t believe that he didn’t make Arcadia as they’re so similar in style. As my partner said, so many things he’d forgotten or that other things had overshadowed them. There is another documentary about a BA plane that landed in a war zone. Both the government and BA said they didn’t know that a war was about to start but later evidence disproves that. It’s on Sky or Netflix I think….

Still watching Shifty. There’s so much to take in. So many things that I’d forgotten. And things that I didn’t know eg the cover up about the water being poisoned in Camelford ( I was there on holiday shortly after it happened and I insisted on us all only drinking bottled water).

Yes, excellent though there has been some serious criticism. I thought it was very good, it made a lot of sense for me of the last 50 years and why the world is where it is now. Especially the growth of the money markets and Gordon Brown handing over financial control to the Bank of England.
