Is on Sky Arts over the weekend. Ch 36 or 11. Corrs have just been on. ( blast from the past!).

To me, Syd was Pink Floyd. I saw them for the first time on a late night tv programme; I was blown away. I think it was Tonight? Apart from the imo underrated Atom Heart Mother I’ve never liked them much since. Dave Gilmour was on Sky Arts a while back and I was bored stiff.

Musical genius was Syd, too many drugs turned his brain to mush, really sad , I've watched that many times, got to see Pink Floyd at Earls Court, 94 I think it was, long after Syd had left.

Doh Maybee! That was Supergrass not Supertramp🤣🤣

It's the heat! I think...after the highlights that documentary about Syd Barrett was on. I've lost track of how many times I've watched it but each time it comes on I can't not watch it. Not many musicians make the front pages of the newspapers when they die.

I’ve just dug out my I Should Coco cd and am playing it for the first time in decades! It’s good fun. Currently spring cleaning and need a bit of musical back up. I’ve been off listening to music for a long time apart from listening to the Folk on Foot podcast ( not sure why; it might be that my current dog doesn’t like having loud music played, but she’s staying with my partner for a while).

Oh , must have missed Supertramp in the listing!, will have a looksy on catch up.

Not impressed with this year's line up, but looking forward to Glastonbury weekend .

I wasn’t when I saw it but have thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d forgotten how good bands like Supertramp actually are and of the newer ones, English Teacher and Yard Act were excellent. I saw some of Faithkess on the highlights programme last night and again had forgottten how good they were. Re Glastonbury, I’m hoping my favourite Scandi pagan band GOAT get lots of coverage. A similar one, Heilung, played at Download last year and my daughter says she regrets watching one of the high profile bands and not them.

There are a few bands at this year's Glastonbury I'd go and see - Biffy Clyro, The 1975 and Alanis Morrisette on the Friday; Wolf Alice and Snow Patrol on the Sunday. Not sure about The Prodigy without Keith Flint - and I wonder if Kneecap's set will go ahead?

I was an Islander until I left home to go to college and work on the mainland. The Festival was originally in West Wight if I remember and it really wasn't my scene. I've no regrets and thankfully my ears no longer rattle. Oh dear, what I misery I am confused

btw, didn't realise this thread is about this year's. For me, there will never be another 1970

Just saying - I went to the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. I was 17. I saw Hendrix!

will never forget <3

I last went about 9 years ago , fabulous weather and great fun we paid the extra and Glamped worth every penny. Definitely would go back but depends on the line up.
Highlight of the weekend was Fleetwood Mac with all of the original line up, unbelievably fantastic.

Have never been able to get Glasto tickets after several years of trying, given up now! My Nephew has been lucky, and has been able to get them for about the last 3 years.. But love watching it on the TV.

I'll try to watch some on catch-up.
It's more "me" than Download which was the other week!

Download is definitely more me!

Well, I've never been, perhaps I should give it a try!

My OH is away to the Summer Sessions Punk All Dayer in Glasgow today, so I'm sitting here having my own wee festival to myself! I still love going to gigs, but only if I can sit - my days of standing at these things are long gone.

The line up is dire. Many groups that I didn’t realise were still together. I liked English Teacher when they won The Mercury Music Prize so I’ll look out for them. And I’ve never been all that interested in The Stereophonics so their music is new to me.

I can hear it from across the Solent as I type.

Not quite as close as 1970 when I lived in a cottage opposite the site. What an experience that was.
