I have just finished watching this. It was screened on ITV a few years ago but I didn’t watch it because I thought it wouldn’t match up to the series back in 1967 with Eric Porter, Nyree Dawn Porter, Susan Hampshire and Kenneth Moore. Was I wrong, this version is excellent in every way with a stand out performance by Damien Lewis as Soames. Now I am looking for something to watch to match it, there is so much that doesn’t appeal to me at all so any recommendations will be welcome, we have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple plus and we have just taken out a few months of Disney Plus at a low rate, I don’t think we will be extending it though.
