DrWatson if you look back you will see that I was the person who started the current Only Connect game thread.
I welcome other opinions, but you don't have to get personal and start throwing insults to get your point across. THAT is a sign of immaturity and lack of confidence.

I enjoyed Genius Game - can't claim to have understood all the strategies, but enough to keep me interested. Some very clever people were involved (and a couple who stayed in by sheer luck).

The scheduling was changed to Wednesday nights which was exactly the same time as Race Across The World which didn't help viewing figures and showed a lack of confidence in the programme by ITV.

Also, I felt cheated that David Tennant was obviously just a video recording with the players names 'cut and pasted' in as necessary.

I wonder how much he got paid for the couple of days filming he did? hmm
I doubt if we'll see a second series in the same format. Shame.

Thx Elless - as BlueBelle says, if you're so frightened of being contradicted that you insist on only getting "liked it" comments, then it suggests you're not that confident about the show?

The viewing figures would seem to confirm that it wasn't that popular? [If you want a challenging show, try Only Connect when it comes back?).

Elless if only those that enjoyed it comment then it could be a bit of a lonely thread by the looks of it
Surely every discussion has to have fors and againsts to make it a discussion

Everyone to their own.

It was not a monumental waste of time - I (and I know others) found it very entertaining, the title of the thread says it all - if you didn't enjoy it don't comment.

Is that the one with David tennent if so it went right over my head watched about 10 minutes and gave up completely didnโ€™t get it and wasnโ€™t interested enough to try

"For anyone who enjoyed Genius Game"? Well, I strongly suggest you start running evening classes re calmness, tolerance & patience.

We saw a show, and 95% of it (conservative estimate!) is spent with contestants discussing tactics with and about other players. Even when a game is finally on, it's done in slow motion, with Sumo-esque slow motion rituals, not helped by having an unintelligible Scottish voice babbling about what folk might be doing next (reaching for the zapper, on this sofa).

So, a monumental waste of time. Take Welsh Poppy's advice! If all else fails with TV schedules, go to the local library, get a few books out!

I watched Genius Game and didn't understand a minute of it. Won't watch another series.

Thank you. I steadfastly watched all of Genius Game without understanding any of the strategies and alliances that the contestants were using to win. Employing the triumph of hope over experience, I will have a look at Netflix now.

Just want to make you aware (if you didn't already know) that this game was taken from Devils Plan which is a Korean show on Netflix. You can easily have English speaking dubbed over so they are very watchable. The intelligence of these youngsters amazes me, with their strategies and alliances. I'm gripped on season 2 at the moment.
