Sarah Lancashire - CBE

This is just a lighthearted observation - it's not anything to do with whether the Honours system is right or wrong or who should or shouldn't receive an honour or whether The Princess Royal needs to wear a military uniform to present the honours on behalf of the King. Or if we need a monarchy.

So all that being said, I'd just like to say how pleasant it was to see the outfit chosen by Sarah Lancashire to receive her MBE. Elegant, understated, occassion and age appropriate. And looked upon with obvious pride by her equally appropriately dressed husband.

Sarah Lancashire is a national treasure , in my opinion.

Sarah Lancashire is a brilliant actor. I have seen her in many very different roles which she plays so well.

I had to look up the photo and yes she looks lovely, she also received and OBE in 2017 and she looked nice then too.

She looked really nice and so feminine in that very pale pink.

When you think she started off as Raquel in Corrie she has come very far. I loved her in that when Ken was trying to teach her French. 🀣

Well deserved. She is a very good actress.
When I first saw her in Corrie many years ago, I thought she was just playing herself! How wrong I was.

She does look lovely and that coat reminded me of a coat I bought to wear to a wedding when I was young- same colour and the fabric looked similar!
Good choice Sarah.

A lovely lady and marvellous actress.

CBE hopefully one step then a Damehood for Ms Lancashire. I hope the fact that she is mainly a television actor will not preclude her.

I had to look that Corrie snippet up, brilliant lines, brilliant acting! I too thought her outfit was spot on in every way.

I love her outfit.

Odd how do many women from Corrie have gone on to greater things but I can't think of any men doing so.

Good point.

I know Davy Jones played Ena Sharples grandson then went on to front The Monkees.

Then there was Geoffrey Hughes who had quite a long stint on Corrie and went on to Keeping Up Appearances and The Royle Family - but I admit I had to look his name up.

Definitely more success for the girls.

Acting is easy. Being Royal is easy.

There are lots of jobs that are much harder and need more recognition (this is my opinion only and I don't expect everyone to agree with me.)

What a beautiful coat.

You could always nominate those you consider worthy Desdemona.

Anyone can nominate a potential recipient.

Echoing the sentiments of many of you Grans, I too think she is a brilliant actress & any accolades she
receives are very well deserved.
A fabulous, talented, beautiful national treasure, for sure. πŸ€—

Presumably you've tried both and moved on to something more challenging Desdemona.

And what dramas have you starred in, if it’s that easy? You are talking through the back of your head! Or is it sour grapes?

I suppose you are now going Tom tell me that you are the star of some well known programme or drama? Surely you must be to make such a sweeping statement!
