Yes, I thought it was excellent too — but not an easy watch. It’s depressing throughout.

Excellent and emotive drama.

A brilliant drama, Joe was played by a fantastic actor. So moving at times, I couldn't believe I was crying for the sex offender !

Harrowing and authentic.

Magnificent. Jimmy McGovern displays such depth with his characters - all have flaws, all have their reasons for what happens. Shedding tears watching a TV programme isn't me, but I found myself shedding tears for a child abuser.

Me too, I cried at the end.

I love Jimmy McGovern he doesn't hold back from the darker side of life.

The acting was first rate and the situation very believable. I thought it was very thought provoking and I cried at the end... great television again from the BBC.

I too watched this last night. Well written and totally believable how it ended.
I think there were many young children who were “touched” by people in authority , wondering if they had informed the police, what the outcome would have been..
I actually cried at times.
Jimmy McGovern is magnificent at this type of drama. Definitely award winning.

What a cracker
It was a really fantastic watch, played so well by all the cast but especially by Joe so believable
I watched it with held breathe very well written and very well acted about a difficult subject, very moving

Yes I watched this excellent drama last night. It's both insightful and moving.

Has anyone watched this? It's a gritty drama written by Jimmy McGovern and it's very good (in my opinion).
