The answer to your question anyway Magenta8. GB News viewers like Marmite, on average, more than non-viewers. Who knew?

Marvellous ….
Very lively debate on at the moment with Nana for and against the new policies for the small boats…

I’m not surprised - it’s the only news channel that lets the majority have their say.

How do you know that they represent the majority? Which majority? Adults? Pensioners? Right minded people? Southerners? Northerners? Daily Mail readers? People who shop at Marks and Spencer? People who share your views? Guardian Readers? NHS workers? Union leaders? LGBTQ community? Reliable information and statistics please.

Omg Magenta you cannot be serious 😂😂😂

Oh I have tried a number of times, but honestly after a few minutes I begin to loose the will to live.

The trouble is it is an opinion led format, so we can clearly not expect accuracy.

It’s bias is to the right, which doesn’t suit me.

A couple of times they appear to get close to hate speech.

So much of it I can see reflected in the rhetoric of Trump and Farage

So no I am afraid it is not for me.

And I’m sure the team will lose a lot of sleep over the loss of your viewing…🤓

And it clearly does not enhance debating skills.

GB news has some of the most lively debates on any news channel 🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂

There is nothing more lively than a debate where everyone agrees with each other.

Personally I prefer quieter more analytic debates between knowledgeable people with different opinions who listen to each other and discuss their different views..

Are you even serious?
Have you ever watched GB News?
Put it on now and see Nanna Akua chairing debates….. Completely opposing points of view… 🙄

The BBC has to jump through a lot of hoops, being polite about other counties problems and trying not to upset certain people or the wrath will fall on the UK.
I am not saying it is a government mouthpiece but it understands that it has to walk a difficult line for the sake of everyone.
Independent stations do not have to obey such delicacies, they often give what options of what people in the street think, which is very popular.
I often listen to the UK Times radio, it did at one point mention the Russian war ship going through the English Channel, which at the time the BBC weren’t mentioning it.

When you get a reaction like this, you know a nerve has been touched. Five minutes ago there were predictions that it would collapse as soon as it started.

The only nerve it touched in me was that the OP had entirely misread and misunderstood what the link said.

Inaccuracy, particularly when presented in such a 'tah-dah' manner, regardless of the subject, always touches a nerve in me

Agreed.

'Popular' does not necessarily mean 'good', never mind 'best', and the conclusion that something is 'better' than competitors can't be arrived at without looking at the grounds on which that assumption has been made.

But your comment does not encourage discussion.

Galaxy Sun 03-Aug-25 10:46:45

But there is probably an important conversation about why GB news is increasingly doing well. Especially as a relatively new channel.

Loving how all the GB News haters form their opinions when they have most likely never watched it. 🤣🤣🤣

Unlike other channels they have a very wide and diverse range of guests. They regularly have Labour MPs on like Barry Gardiner, he’s been on loads of times. They all get their chance to give their opinions and they are listened to. They have professors, medical experts, anarchists, pop stars, economists, self made millionaires, former MPs from all parties. it is fascinating to listen to their views.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 03-Aug-25 10:38:46

TBH there are many choices of good News programmes if that is what you want.

Although it is named GBNews, that isn’t accurate as the vast majority of their programmes over 90% are opinion led.

I don’t think I know anyone who is passionate about watching GB news but I think there is a belief that you will get a different angle on the news. I remember DGS5 asking me if they were having a real argument !

Me,me I am passionate about watching GB news…😁👏🏻

Oreo Sun 03-Aug-25 10:02:09

I don’t like all of the presenters, some are better than others and some guests better than others, but that’s the same of many things on tv.
Silly comments about orange tinges and so on say much about the person saying it.
Probably the same sort of people who dismissed Corrie!

Shinamae Sun 03-Aug-25 09:55:08

GB news is loud and inflammatory at times. The current unrest with regard to immigration has probably been partly stirred up by items broadcast on GB news. 0ne gets a distinct feeling that government may be limiting what is discussed and shown on established news channels.
If the general public felt that government was listening to there concerns there would then not be a channel like GB news.
I'm not ashamed to say I tune in at least once a day to hear things from a different angle - bawdy as it sometimes is.
If the boats are ever stopped it will be partly down to this news channel.

Your choice, obviously, but personally, I would not use the word bawdy . I would use the word lively…..😁

Shinamae Sun 03-Aug-25 09:43:43

The rest of you can be as negative as you like it doesn’t alter the
fact, maybe you can form your own little club of dissenters
WELL DONE GB NEWS and all your excellent presenters
😂😂😂🌻🌻🌻🌻🤩🤩😠⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
