Indeed, a lot of great music and songs, much of it instantly recognisable.

I turn up the car radio at the first note of pretty much any Motown hit, or the Beatles or Stones, etc. I wouldn't go and see the likes of Ed Sheeran, Adele, etc, if they were on at the village hall.

We went to see the Tom Robinson Band last Saturday, still loads of energy, still committed to protesting the injustices we see in the world- but still lots of fun!

PrinceofCarmel - nice story. He seemed to have been very shabbily treated by his father in life & death.

The music always seemed to be so much better and more interesting in the '60s and early '70s. My husband finds sections of old music on YouTube and loves watching it.

So much optimism, hope and fun is the songs of the 60's and 70's. It felt like hope. The excitement of waiting for your favourite band or singer to come on the radio or TV.
The DJ playing something and all the girls jumping up to dance.

That was called “being young”

I wake up in the morning. Put on the song “Get Together” by the Youngbloods. The lyrics resonate how I would live. All of us together. When I look back, I am amazed at what our hearts were filled with.

Now, so many people are frozen in fear, suspicion. I have always liked “Instant Karma” with “we all shine on”. Music got me through this life, quite seriously.

What songs have deep value for you ? I also really enjoyed Julian Lennon’s music. I heard his first band and their sound was excellent. After the show, maybe 20 people were hanging out. This man appears, saying Julian’s left already. We stayed. A few minutes later, Julian comes out. He comes to me, we take a picture together. He was beautiful, tender and kind.

I don’t know why he only took a picture with me. I was wearing a black Beatles tie with John, George, Paul and Ringo on it.

I think about Julian a lot and hope he is well. His life has been tough. His mom was loving and he appreciated that. Hope to see you again Julian. We all shine on….
