^Who doesn't know where Colmar is?^
Me! 🙋‍♀️
It sounds Irish 😁

But I did know the answer to the other question.

Off the coach now! Only joking!
A lot of the river cruises stop off in Colmar. I think it is often advertised for its Christmas market too? I've never visited.

I just had a look, it does look beautiful and unspoilt.

It is absolutely beautiful 😍 I’ve sailed through the town.

They seem to find a formula for this type of show then do it to death. Rather read my book.

I think this is the first series, so it hasn't been done to death. If that happens, I'll stop watching, but I'm enjoying the scenery for now, and trying to work out the clues.

Devorgilla Sun 03-Aug-25 14:37:59

I've watched the first two and guessed both but then I had been to those parts of Europe before. I expect to fail on some if they go to countries I don't know that much about. Still, it's a frolic during the 'silly' season.

unlike the dim contestants who don’t seem to have much of a grasp of languages or European geography. 😆
Who doesn't know where Colmar is?
Who doesn't realise that CH plastered over everything is Switzerland?

I'll come on the oldies' coach. Are there showers?

Oh, and we wouldn’t be afraid to change the catch phrase to, ‘Where the F are we?’

Think he says "Where the X are we".

I'm not sure I get it. What's the actual point of being transported to the destination?

They could sit them down somewhere and give them the clues. Like in a pub, with some drinks. In fact I'm sure lots of people would enjoy sitting in a pub with a drink and some mates while they're asked questions and given clues. Oh ..wait ..

I can’t decide if I like it or not. We guessed the correct country but wrong city for the first episode. Second episode we guessed exactly the right place.

Pittcity Sun 03-Aug-25 13:13:44

The second episode was much easier to work out. I got the first stop of the first episode but was totally confused as they then travelled to a completely different place on a blacked out bus and the extra clues pointed to the first place not the final destination.
I've not warmed to any of the contestants, but am glad there aren't any sob stories yet.

Ah but sodapop, if we were doing it you’d be able to read your book and solve the clues at the same time!

These youngsters….They just don’t know how to multitask! 😂

I'm part-way through the first episode now. I like reality shows like this when I'm knitting or sorting, both of which I do on Sundays. I can stop and start paying attention at will.

I don't think I'd have much idea where I was at this stage, but I'm not sure I've worked out how to play yet grin.

Allira Sun 03-Aug-25 12:39:53

I semi-watched it - was concentrating on a complicated knitting crochet pattern at the same time!

Perhaps I should concentrate on one or the other, as I couldn't get into it, saw them struggling with languages and wondered what they were taught in schools today! It seemed to be rather strange 😀

I've recorded this but I think I much prefer your version!

I watched the second episode last night on catch up because Saturday night TV is so dire.
Didn’t bother with the first.
It got me thinking that this would be an ideal reality competition show for oldies. Why does everything have to be aimed at the young?

We wouldn’t have to do anything except sit on a coach and natter. We could take our knitting or play board games.
Shame about the blacked out windows but we’d solve the clues in a flash - unlike the dim contestants who don’t seem to have much of a grasp of languages or European geography.

I take my hat off to the two guys who abseiled out of their cable cars though….I think we’d have to pass on that one.

My biggest challenge would be clambering in and getting out of the bunk beds and I think we’d need more than one tiny loo!! 😂😂

So do you think the beeb would go for it? 😂😂
