How do we know he's guilty. Some women with men for years after a few months marriage discover partner is controlling.

It’s unfair to name anyone in a case like this until proven guilty.

I didn't know that eddiecat, the charges were all over the news but I don't recall seeing or hearing anything about his acquittal .

When I read the piece written in her own words by blades wife I wondered why she fled the house with just bare essentials
and had to stay with a friend.
I’ve known women who have literally had to run for their lives.
I never liked him from his early days in Money for Nothing.
He went from painting a deckchair to Artisan furniture restorer. And the paintwork on the deckchair was rubbish.

I think Terry Wogan was irreplaceable on the BBC Radio morning programme.

I'd like to point out that the auctioneer Charles Hanson (Bargain Hunt etc) was accused of some awful things by his wife and his career was completely scuppered. A court case then found that he was entirely innocent and his wife was a very nasty woman.

That's what bothers me Allira, even if found not guilty the shadow cast by being accused seldom goes away. I thought he was OK as presenter of the Repair Shop too.

I think no programme presenter is irreplaceable but sometimes they think they are. Programmes just roll on regardless. This Morning, Lorraine, Loose Women all in a state of flux now but the stand in presenters all seem to be keeping the shows on air. Same with Strictly. New dancers coming in to replace the old or those where there has been issues but it still rolls on.

I didn't mind him in the Repair Shop either, although it is doing well without a presenter.

I'm not comfortable with the name of the accused being released once charges have been made just because they're celebrities.

It happens, the name of the person charged can be released but the alleged victim is given anonymity.

If that person is proven innocent, there will always be a shadow hanging over them, particularly someone famous.

It has to be uniform though Smileless. Jay Blades was identified quickly; Huw Edward’s wasn’t. His wife had to ‘out’ him so others were not being accused.

Might as well not trouble with the cost of a trial given how many have him "bang to rights" already. He may be guilty, but until the evidence is tried in court he should have the presumption of innocence. I'll be very disappointed if he is guilty, I liked him in the Repair Shop when I used to watch it.

This is very true. It will come out at trial. Meanwhile nobody knows. Like with all tv people, some people like them, others don’t. Time will tell.

I hardly think so. Blades presented a popular restoration programme.
Charles supports many restoration projects - check out Dumfries House.

The BBC does seem to be very unfortunate with its choice of male presenters doesn't it.

It still is a lovely programme JaneJudge.

Yes, it's still a lovely programme and it's probably better without a presenter, it's just fine the way it is.

I think other BBC programmes eg The Sewing Bee, might be better without annoying presenters too.

He became very friendly with Judith Dench.

King Charles wasn’t his ‘mate’. He was supporting a very popular tv programme which he and his family enjoyed watching like thousands of us do/did. As a result of meeting Jay Blades he was invited to become involved in King Charles projects supporting business, recycling and rural work such as carpentry. Dude they know this was going to come out and what would happen? Of course not. He seems/seemed affable although full of himself on tv. They were taken in, as were others.
Time will tell how this all pans out but it’s not looking good. Stupid man.

I’ve never taken to him. Far too familiar and touchy feely. Just another male TV presenter with an overblown ego who likes us to think he’s ever so ‘umble.
