BTW is there anywhere in London that has so few ethnic groups?
There have been many ethnic groups in EE over time, it's obviously impossible to show them in one go all together. Take a look back over the years.
I was an East London girl for many years. We don't actually notice different ethnicities as we go about our daily lives, certainly not in our neighbours who are just friends, or in the pub where people socialise.
EE would find it difficult to show first generation families from non english speaking countries because many do not speak English at home, so their dialogue would not be easily comprehended.
I don't necessarily want a Chinese family in EE just to say, " Look, a Chinese family in EE!" I want my storylines to be interesting and convincing regardless of where the characters are from.
EE is not there as a tv series to show London in all its glory. It's there for entertainment.
