So, I've heard of 8 of the celebrities but some of those I've literally just heard the names - don't know what they actually do.

Given my interests though, it's unlikely I would be able to identify a reality "celebrity" (I mean the Love Island type shows) a blogger/vlogger/influencer or most sports people.

Anyone know all of them?

That was good fun.

Sparklefizz Sat 27-Sept-25 19:33:14

Harry is very strong.

Alex did well!

Think she will be a ballroom queen ! Loved it.

Grannynannywanny Sat 27-Sept-25 19:26:05

Alex is off to a flying start. She looks very promising.

I agree YorkLady. That was a tough dance for a first timer.

YorkLady Sat 27-Sept-25 19:15:29

Nadyia is beautiful. Chris did well to even try that dance.

Good to see the judges dancing!

Hi Strictly fans 👋🏻 I’m looking forward to a good show tonight 💃 🕺

What a long programme it's going to be tonight. I may have to give up before the end and catch up with it tomorrow.

I’ve set it to record, so I can whizz through.

But does it matter. For those of us who watch it is a sparkly, joyful, lighthearted way to pass a Saturday night - it's not for everyone - what is?

Absolutely!

Used to love this programme but not so the last couple of series. Never got into all the hype and gossip around it and never watched the nightly spin off programme just really enjoyed the dancing and seeing how the contestants improved and especially loved seeing the professionals perform.
What I've done recently is record it and then just fast forwarded through all the 'rubbish' and only watched the actual dances and only listened to the comments from Shirley and Craig. Cut out all the interviews, practice sessions, Claudia's inane questions, and the effusive remarks from Motsi and Anton and it can all be condensed into a very short time.

Yes knspol the joys of modern technology😊
I have come to loathe shows where we are expected to endure someone’s “back story” even the term. It’s not Who Do You Think You Are!

Granmarderby10 Wed 24-Sept-25 22:08:22

That was in response to BarmyBarmys’ comment.

Granmarderby10 Wed 24-Sept-25 22:06:00

I like Sammy Davies Jnr. His dancing and his tremendous voice.
I know he and “Brucie” ” appeared together on shows way back but I’ve never thought of them in the same sphere.

Bruce was televisions Mr Entertainment- an “all rounder” for years in Britain and there was much to admire.

Now Sammy D Jnr. was the international star 🌟 No comparison really. Apples and Pineapples.

I hardly know any of this year’s celebs but it doesn’t make any difference to me on Strictly. It’s a show about dancing, glitz and glamour.

I was relieved when I recognised nearly all the celebs on upcoming Traitors though as I think it will make it more interesting.

They have to try and appeal to a younger audience as well as people who have watched from the start.

I have no idea what a content creater actually does but they may turn out to be a good dancer.

Silly Milly

A content creator...creates content. Now you know - about as much as I do grin.

I think the word "celebrity" as far as TV programmes go should be replaced with "Someone Somebody May Have Heard Of For Whatever Reason"

Wonder who will replace Dani Dyer? They'll have to do a lot of catch up dancing over a few days! !

Stillness Wed 24-Sept-25 07:20:06

I don’t know many celebrities and although I love dance, it’s the dancing I like and the celebrities don’t interest me at all. Consequently I won’t be watching Strictly……it’s a shame as I used to like it but I find it nauseating now. Sorry to be negative.

kittylester Wed 24-Sept-25 01:52:45

But, things are different now - the world changes - embrace it.

Crossstitchfan Tue 23-Sept-25 23:33:35

I don’t know all the celebs either, but as someone said, if you don’t watch Love Island and the like, how would you? I can’t see how people from that sort of programme, ie mindless rubbish, could be classed as a celeb anyway! A celeb to me is someone like Judi Dench, someone who has done something worth remembering, not ordinary people who go on reality programmes just for their five minutes of fame.

BarmyBarmy Tue 23-Sept-25 22:24:08

Never liked B. F. He thought he was Sammy Davies Junior. Not fit to lace S.D.Jnrs boots
