So, I've heard of 8 of the celebrities but some of those I've literally just heard the names - don't know what they actually do.

Given my interests though, it's unlikely I would be able to identify a reality "celebrity" (I mean the Love Island type shows) a blogger/vlogger/influencer or most sports people.

Anyone know all of them?

Allira Sun 30-Nov-25 19:56:54

I thought Alex's dance was better but I'm no dancer.

Poor Balvinder. Is this her 4th or 5th dance off?
And poor Alex - I think she must be absolutely exhausted. I hope she's been able to soak her feet in the interval before recording the results show.

I know, not fair!
I did vote for you Balvinder.
I've no idea who she is but apparently she plays a not very nice character in Eastenders, surely that doesn't influence the public vote?

I don't go with the theory that some dance training is "different dance training" and doesn't help with Ballroom and Latin.

If you sat me down at a piano with someone who had been having piano lessons for a year and asked us to play a tune neither of us had played before, the other person would sound like Lang Lang compared to me. Believe me, they really would.

I liked the chaos of the instant dances - added a bit of fun. I've long given up insisting it's a dance show. It's Saturday night entertainment with some dancing.

Both of whom would know more than me about playing a piano.

That is not the comparison we were making.
It was like comparing the person who has had piano tuition as a child with a professional pianist.

I don’t think many children stay at dancing classes until they are 15: unless they have some talent though. Most girls do try it, but it fades by the age of 10 or so, unless they are good. I’m not decrying Karen’s achievement in the competition, but I do think it’s true to say she had some dance experience.

In my experience they do. Unless it was just very popular here
I do think it’s true to say she had some dance experience

Yes, true, but not professionally trained as others have been who are/were contestants on the show.

Maremia Sun 30-Nov-25 10:02:59

They stay at classes if their friends do.

Lots of girls, probably us included, went to dancing classes when at school. Didn't mean we were good at it. Just enjoyed wearing the costumes and being in the shows.

eazybee Sun 30-Nov-25 06:37:43

I thought the 'improvisation' was frenetic and funny, and it also relieved the growing tension, in the way the lack of a dance-off did last week. Most seemed to be actually enjoying their 40 seconds of dancing.....
"Look at me, oh look at me, Oh, look at me, I'm dancing!
I'm dancing on one foot, and then on two.........."
(can't remember any more.)
It is also good to see the Judges out of their comfort zone and participating a bit more.

NotSpaghetti Sun 30-Nov-25 00:16:57

From 11 her dancing had to compete with football anyway though...
And it was helpful for the football but it wasn't part of her career.

My husband had piano lessons as a boy. Nobody would expect him to be a pianist now.
I feel as it was 20 or 25 years ago it is not the same as someone who did dance as an adult.
I do think Lewis is pretty amazing though.

I really enjoyed George today. It's so lovely to see people grow!

Allira Sat 29-Nov-25 22:25:45

Grandmadinosaur

Google it. She has danced before.
I’m not disputing her football credentials.

"She gave up dance training at age 15"

I should think many girls went to dance classes when they were children but that is not the same as professional dance training, unlike Amber who is a professionally trained dancer and has appeared in West End shows.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 29-Nov-25 21:21:56

Poor Alex think she has had enough now.
I really enjoyed the 'Instant Dance' it was both barmy and brilliant!
I voted:
3 for Karen and Carlos
2 for George and Alexis

Now I'm crying again.
I think Karen is sensational. She's never danced before, and she should be an inspiration to young girls. I really admire her.
For me, Karen to win!!!

I think it’s been reported she has danced before.

Personally I thought she always looked a step ahead of Carlos tonight.

Karen has never danced before, but what she has done is play football for England in 4 world cups. She is the highest capped player ever in the women’s team.

NotSpaghetti Sat 29-Nov-25 20:32:40

Yes, Balvinder actually seemed truly alive!

rafichagran Sat 29-Nov-25 20:23:45

I noticed Karen was allover the place in that. Carlos really had to lead her.
My votes will go to Lewis, Karen and Bal. I really can't take to George in the same way York lady cannot take to Amber, and I too do not know why.

Millie22 Sat 29-Nov-25 20:23:01

Did you hear Alex say before she danced that she could hardly walk.

I'm not sure if I liked that instant dance idea. It was a bit frantic but Lewis did well.

Sparklefizz Sat 29-Nov-25 20:22:17

rafichagran

I found that messy and frantic.

Exactly. Me too.

Calendargirl Sat 29-Nov-25 20:17:20

I assume it was a replacement for the ‘danceathon’ which they usually do around this time.

I agree that the ones who had plenty of previous dance experience stood out.

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Nov-25 20:14:07

Poor Alex. She obviously hurting. I thought balvinder did a passable paso.

rafichagran Sat 29-Nov-25 20:13:52

Mary59nana Sat 29-Nov-25 20:12:49

I noticed Alex hobbling as I often do myself with RA
My heart goes out to her she must be in pain
