I agree with SORES

I thought they were an unlikely couple. Some very humorous scenes, but I didn’t think it hung together very well.

I’m going to see it on Thursday as well with the U3a cinema group.

SORES

we thought they were a completely implausible couple,
mismatched, potty mouthed Coleman in her natural element
a stiff dull Cumberbatch, daft ending too

the original of course, far superior, with believably unhinged Turner and Douglas, taking their mutual loathing as far as it was possible to go

I read an article that said they didn't get on behind the scenes. Benedict Cumberbatch was very particular with everything but Olivia Coleman was more let's get on with it.
Maybe they didn't have to act too much for the film.
Seeing it on Thursday with my WI's Cinema Club.

Many laughs, great acting, but the bad language was terrible and I am not a prude. 😳

Enjoyed it but wish it had a happy ending! The acting was great.

We went yesterday evening. I don't think we enjoyed it much as we had just had a blazing row and during the showing I got a horrible cramp in my leg and back pain as the seats are terrible and Dh in an attempt to massage my leg threw his Zero Guinness all over my new jeans and white linen shirt. -- They are all on the line this morning. Washing machine going since dawn. I am still mad.

Went to see The Roses, with Olivia Coleman & Benedict Cumberbatch, last night.

Great film & great to escape from the real world for a short while.

Has anyone else seen it & if so what did you think?
