Celebrity Traitors starts tonight at 8 pm.
I'm looking forward to it, there's some reasonably good brains competing.
At least two of the contestants are pensioners - Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls, Marigold Hotel etc) and the erudite Sir Stephen Fry.
I'm sorry that Tom has gone.

Spoiler Alert!
Are we allowed to mention names. The thread will die if we don’t.
I’m sorry Tom has gone. He was good in the challenges.
The other contestants actually thought Tom was smart and perceptive. They seemed upset when he got murdered.
(The clip of Tom having a shower was a bit weird). 🙈

Stephen Fry is 68
Pensionable age!

I’ve always disliked Jonathan Ross but I’m enjoying him in this. I’m pleased I’m also appreciating Stephen Fry, I liked his comedy, blackadder, fry and Laurie etc but got a bit irritated by his personal life presentation. Glad to say he’s won me round. He’s clever and likeable
Claire Balding as Head Girl takes some beating. She’s a Thoroughly Good Thing. She lacks a spaniel or a lab but I could assist with a strictly time limited loan
I think Jonathan Ross is clever and scheming, and will betray his fellow traitors if he gets a chance.
On the other hand he almost gave himself away at one point early on, and his slip up was noticed, I thought, by Joe Marler.
Cat is a cool customer.

I gave it a go after after all the hype. It seemed rehearsed and contrived to me. I realise I'm in the minority.
It's heavily edited, Kate that's why it might seem contrived because, of course, it is, by the editor. We only see a fraction of what is recorded and they are miked up once they have left their own rooms (which are not in the castle). It is very carefully staged but the contestants don't know what is going on.
I cannot warm to Clare Balding at all never have and it’s not changed I m also not over keen on Tom Daley or jonathon Ross mind you I didn’t like Alan Carr either but finding him rather good fun in this so I might change my mind about them all I m a fan of a David Olusoga such an intelligent man so far he’s not contributed much but I think he’s a watcher
Paloma is lovely and I was sorry to see her go out first
Did you see her on the BBC2 programme afterwards she was very funny ?

Yes, I think it's a pity she was first out.
We saw Paloma Faith years ago at one of the Forest Live events. She was fabulous, with several quick costume changes into incredible outfits. Even then we were the oldest couple in the audience.
Such a shame she’s gone, I’d like to have seen more of her.
Paloma Faith is best known as a singer rather than St Trinians. Fortunately her singing voice does not sound like her speaking one.
I like Claire, and would like to raid her wardrobe. She wears some lovely jackets for her TV work.
I have just finished reading he first novel for adults and enjoyed it.
It's going to be so interesting to see how people interact as a lot of them know each other already and I like finding out more about their personalities.
Did you see Joe Marler on Portrait Artist of the Year this week? He came across as a lovely man.
My son really likes Niko, he's sent me a video where he goes undercover with a far right group so I don't think he just does pranks.
Mark Bonnar was brilliant in Line of Duty and seems to have a good sense of humour.

Forgot to mention Joe Marler - loved him on the rugby pitch and love him on here though he’s been very quiet so far.
Yes, he could be a Dark Horse!

Oh, the US one with those Real Housewives of America. Has anyone watched that reality show?
Never not ever
We've ever watched any.
DH groaned about it but then got into the whole thing, I think.
Well, he didn't nod off at least!

It is not usually so macabre - i suspect that it has been ramped up as it's celebs.
I thought that too Kittylester. I was one of those who said she didn’t like Stephen Fry or Claire Balding but I’m changing my mind about SF, not some of his more extremes comments but him as a person. I actually think he wears his knowledge quite lightly. Claire Balding not so much, she was pretty arrogant in a “I know best” sort of way in the first challenge but she has been quieter since so maybe I’ll change my mind about her too. Tom Daly I find a bit sneery. Alan Carr is hilarious! I’m loving the whole thing and even know most of the celebs! Claudia is just the best. I saw a blouse with those sleeves in my local charity shop this morning! 😂😂
😄😄 you’ll soon get the hang of it.
I must admit I’ve been hooked since traitors first started. I’ve watched them all including the New Zealand ones which are similar to us in character, and the USA - now they are a sight to behold.

There is also an evening round table where people try to identify the traitors and banish them.
So, if identified, the fringe lady picks another one presumably.
Are the shields given out again at the start of each task?
I need to keep up at the back!No the traitors choose another traitor or they could carry on with just two.
The shields are generally won in the progress of the games/task.
Sometimes the contestants get to go into a room and try to find a shield.😳😳🙄🙄
Thanks!
It's complicated 😁
The important thing is that if there is a traitor left at the end and they all agree to share the prize then the traitor gets it all. Alliances sometimes count for nothing sometimes and things turn on a sixpence 😈
I’ve watched the other UK series and enjoyed them although at first I didn’t think I would.
This celebrity one has started well. I’m hooked. We are away next week so will have to be careful what we listen to before we get chance to view.
