I share your confusion. This thread is one amongst hundreds live on GN, which is a tiny area of the Internet, which itself represents a minuscule part of all the things someone could be doing with their time, so why anyone needs to seek it out in order to say the subject doesn't interest them is beyond me.

I am not interested in sport, but I don't look down my nose at those who enjoy it, or join sports forums so I can proclaim my lack of interest. I just go and do something else instead. What do people get out of tearing down others' interests? It doesn't make them look clever, if that's what they think.

I don't see where Mojack has said/implied they are "looking down their nose" or "tearing down others' interests"? Mojack has simply commented that they aren't interested in the programme and are glad it's over, I can't see any harm in that, good to know it wasn't universally appreciated and many did unexpectedly enjoy it.

I don't think anyone said that OldFrill - I think it was just Doodledog who said she doesn't look down her nose at people who enjoy sports - and nor does she join sports chats to say she's not interested.

It's getting increasingly difficult to post without words being put in one's mouth these days, but it's good to see that what I wrote made sense to at least one person.

Just read that a second Celebrity Traitors is definitely planned for next year. Fingers crossed, as good a mix of players is picked to participate.

I have just finished watching Australian Traitors series 2 on the iPlayer, it has a fantastic ending!

I think I know most of the others apart from James Acaster.

I was abroad when the finale was broadcast, despite trying to avoid seeing anything that would tell me who won, sadly I saw a picture that gave it away! It did, to some extent, spoil the finale when I watched it on Sunday evening but what a good series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next celebrity series.

I haven't watched the non-celebrity Traitors because I didn't like the concept - ordinary people ostensibly making good friends while misrepresenting themselves and then stabbing them in the back in order to win a large amount of money. To my mind that encourages the worst aspects of human behaviour.

However, I did watch the celebrity Traitors because I read that they all received the same (reportedly very generous) amount for being part of the programme - and the "winner" won the money for charity. I thought it was highly entertaining.

No. Apparently they didn't all get the same amount for participating.

Celebrity Traitors favourite Joe Marler has dismissed claims that all participants on the programme received an identical £40,000 fee.
The former England rugby international actually earned several thousand pounds less than that figure, stating he doesn't believe every contestant was paid equally.

When the Times questioned the former England rugby star about his earnings and mentioned they'd heard it was £40,000, Marler responded: "Yeah, Daisy [his wife] read that too. She said to me, 'Hold on, I thought you only got 30?' I said, 'Yeah, I did.'"

They don't know how far they will get.

We need more transparency at the BBC. It is our money after all.

Fees will have been negotiated and agreed, usually through the person's agent. It's common practice that not everyone gets the same fee, they get paid according to how much "value" their presence is thought to bring to the programme. No doubt Alan Carr will expect to be paid more for any future shows he does, it's just how it works!

It sounds a lot of money but I expect other shows cost a great deal more than that - on whatever channel they air.
